Question 1

does the aladdin mantle you sell also fit the aladdin lamp "23"? Your descrip says 12-23?

Accepted Answer

When looking at this item, we determined the 12-23 means the mantle fits lamps with the number 12-23. Our lamp numbered 12 and the mantle we ordered fits perfectly.

Question 2

I recieved a lil box with just the blue part not the whole complete mantle hw do i get help to talk to some one?

Accepted Answer

if it is only the blue net no wire frame than it is not for a Aladdin lamp it may be and lantern or some kind of gas light

Question 3

Does this mantle contain thorium il buy it even if it does contain it

Accepted Answer

Knowing where the mantle is made might be important: Modern mantles aren't quite as bright but don't have a 14 billion (billion with a b) year half life problem. "Coleman, the best-known U.S. manufacturer, phased out thorium gas mantles in the early 90s. (Today its mantles are made with nonradioactive yttrium.) Other firms still sell thorium mantles but have moved their factories to developing countries. "This is taken from "The Straight Dope" at http://www.straightdope.com/columns/read/2482/are-camp-lanterns-radioactiveIn my opinion - Thorium contamination near mantle making plants has been a considerable environmental mess costing billions to even approach cleaning it up, thankfully we stopped doing it. Supporting industries making Thorium mantles in countries where the cleanup isn't a concern - should be a concern for all of us.

Question 4

I’m wondering if someone can measure the inner diameter of the hole at the base of the mantle? I can’t seem to find this information online.

Accepted Answer

The hole in the bottom of the metal bayonet base measures about 1-1/4 inches. the bottom of the metal bayonet base is about 1-3/4 inches. The bottom of the actual cloth mantle measures about 1-3/4 inches. I hope this helps.
