Twist the ring slightly while applying pressure on the bead and it should pop out. If you are having trouble removing the bead, try wedging your thumbnail under the edge of the bead but be careful not to drop the bead when it pops out. To replace the bead, line up the bead between your fingers where you can see the indents on both ends, and then rest the bottom indent on the end of the ring opening. Hold the ring tightly while you carefully push the top indent into the ring opening. Please keep in mind that a 925 sterling silver/14K gold filled/14K solid gold BCR is not as hard as a 316L steel one. BEAUTIFUL WORKMANSHIP!
I bought the hammered silver & now I am getting the hammered gold. Absolutely beautiful for the top of the ear. Very petite & it takes two people to put the bead on. I couldn't do it by myself. The bead is very small, too. I absolutely love it! Once I get the gold one, it is going in my ear & staying there. Thank you!

Too small of a bead to work with
My wife ordered this for a lower ear cartilage piercing. It is "cute" in her words. The bead was too small to really work with and it was just held with a little tension between a cut in the earring. The hole was too small to fit over the earring. I am not sure if it is supposed to or not. Ended up getting a different earring at a local store.

I love the earring. It is very well made and the opal is gorgeous! I haven't worn it yet but I really like the idea that I received an additional opal that I can change to for variety.

Definitely not a good earring for a cartilage piercing
The earring is very hard to open. Definitely not a good earring for a cartilage piercing. The opal is extremely small. Very disappointed with the item. Because it came from Greece I would need to pay for return shipping. So sorry that I ordered this product. I'm surprised that Amazon sells from this company.
