I have a 2006 mt vernon that has a wire wall mount control i want a wireless one will this work?

No. This is a control for the Quadrafire Mt Vernon AE model only and must be wired to the terminals on the back of the stove in order to communicate with the "mother board" inside the stove. It is much more than an on/off switch. If you have the older Mt Vernon stove that came with a mechanical wired thermostat that connected to two terminals on the rear of the stove, then you can set up a wireless remote control to turn it on and off manually or thermostatically.
