Use for raw cats diet
I am using this supplement as part of a raw meat recipe for my cats and they love it. I read all reviews and some mentioned a strong not pleasant aroma, but in my experience the smell is minimal. I prepare a raw diet for my cats, so I am not cooking anything and this may why the smell is almost zero... for humans not for cats, one of my cats smelled the bag the day I got it and she started biting the bag wanted to eat what was inside... at that moment I knew this bone meal was a success for my cats perspective.I like that this bone meal has the natural color without any bleaching and the price is more affordable than other brands... I don't want to pay extra for bleaching the bone meal that my cats are going to eat, the idea is to go natural and closer to what they would experience on the wild. I have used 2/3 of my first 1 pound bag and I plan to reorder it.

My dog loves it
This product does have a little smell but it is not off-putting to me. I have to put my nose right over the container to smell it. My dog eats raw and I use this bone meal to supplement his food. The package says 1 teaspoon a day but my dog requires more. I feed a raw diet and give 6 teaspoons per pound of meat if he doesn't eat regular bones that day. That's just how I use it, but there is a lot of info online about feeding raw. He loves the smell of this bone meal eats it right up. I prepare his food in advance and noticed when I mixed the bone meal into a larger quantity of meat and it sat in the fridge for a day or so, the smell became stronger. I started mixing it into his food right before he eats it and he loves it that way.

Pretty good quality bone meal
I bought this to make raw cat food with and though I was a little surprised that it was brown, it had a very familiar scent to it. Reminded me a lot of the quality dry food I used to feed them. Let the cats have a sniff and they liked it well enough though not nearly as much the first time I added it to their recipe - they've since acclimated well to it.Was pleased to see the package came with a few suggested serving sizes for various animals though the information isn't as useful to me (I make food by the pound in advance and freeze it, not by the serving). It's also cheaper than the bone meal I was using and didn't have the pesky "non available" problem I always seem to run into when it's time to restock.

My dogs love this, and (sorry to be explicit/gross, but) it really firms up their poop! ;D
First off, this stuff is *brown*. Not white, but *brown*. And smelly, in an unoffensive way. My dogs (who are raw fed) starting jumping up and down when they first smelled it. I held the open bag down for them to smell, and they all stuck their noses in and started lapping it up dry! The reason I got the product is that I have a friend who is a deer hunter, and he has brought me enough deer trim this year to feed my dogs for six months! I lightly dehydrate liver and other organs for their treats, so I've got the organ portion of their diet covered, but I know they need a bone source too. I liked the idea of feeding a non-bleached, more natural powdered bone product. And it had the aforementioned effect I was hoping it would have: it firmed up their poop! Raw fed dogs who get mostly meat and no bones tend to have sticky stool. Add a little liver to their diet and it goes from sticky to looser and REALLY sticky. Add a little bone meal and it firms right up, for super easy cleanup! Very happy with this product! :)

No Lab results but taste test results are 5-star!!!
I don't know what this product will return nutritionally because I just received it but I could barely get it open without my cat stampeding me to try to open it himself to get to it quicker! It appears to be a quality product although I have nothing to compare it to (never having purchased a bone meal product before) but it is a rich, deep brown color, smells real enough---meaning not offensive but not odorless either---and as I said b4, my cat certainly gives it 4-paws UP for "I want this NEOWWWWW!!!"I feed a raw diet (not ground) so I am just sprinkling this on his meat chunks and stirring around w/about a tablespoon of water and he licks the plate clean! I sure hope this is as good for him as he thinks it tastes.Thank you UPCO!Completely unrelated to review...Shipping return address was from Mars Computers Media. Could not figure out connection to bone meal. LolS'plain it to me, Lucy if u can, seller! Lol

A Miracle Supplement!
I would give this more than 5***** if I could and have already ordered a 2nd bag so I will never be out of the supplement. I have a 12 year old large dog and even though I cook for her, a meal of liver, ground turkey, ground beef and rice, she is a picky eater. She also had CCL surgery on both back legs about 8 years ago and with her age, has trouble walking and favors one of the back paws. I started adding a half tablespoon of the bone meal to her food and she now gobbles it down with delight. My dog seems happier and is enjoying her walks once again. In fact, she is now putting full weight on her back paw. Not too sound gross, but her bowel movements are also healthier. The UPCO bone meal has a natural scent that reminds me of dried mushrooms. It is not offensive to me at all.
