Play at a Victorian Garden Party
This is a lovely little outfit. I have 2 granddaughter with American Girl dolls and have to buy similar things for each doll so as to avoid anyone feeling slighted. I had ordered, some time ago, a blue bridesmaid dress with a train for the one girl and couldn't find anything with a train for the other girl. When I came upon this dress my problem was solved.It is very cute. The hat has a nice crocheted lace brim. All pieces are very nice satin fabric. This is not a dress per se, as it has a separate skirt and top. The skirt has a velcro placket type closure in back, a very pretty nylon gathered lace edging at the hemline. The top has a full length velcro closure in the back for easy dressing, a stand up collor with a row of lace under it. This lace has a sparkle gem in it and there is another row of mathcing lace across the bodice front. Sleeves are puffed at the top and fited beneath ending in an angle at the wrist. There is a delicate row of lace at the joining of the puff to the straight sleve. The waist is fitted with a row of lace just under the actual waistline. Joined at the waistline is a v-peplum to echo the sleeve angle.I see one drawback. The tag says "do not iron" and after shipping the dress and hat definitely need to be ironed. Lucky for me I have a steamer to use instead of an iron. But this could be a factor for you. I guess you could wet it an put it in a drier, or hang in a steamy shower.Anyway, it's very cute. I know my granddaughter will love it.
