Bonnie Plants Sweet Basil Live Herb Plants - 4 Pack, Warm Season Annual, Italian & Asian Dishes

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I chose these herbs because I wanted to have fresh ingredients in my recipes. I had tried to grow them from seeds, and did not have much luck. So when I spotted herbs that were already started in little pots, I ordered them and hoped for the best. They came looking perfectly healthy. No dry soil and not a dry leaf anywhere. Evidently, I was not blessed with two green thumbs, as within two days of transplanting them to larger pots with the recommended soil, water, and sunshine, every plant started to curl up and die. I am very new to gardening, so I take all responsibility for their demise, and therefore, these beautiful little herb plants deserve all five stars, and I deserve none!

My basil plants are perfect (and have solidly exceeded my expectations)! Each one came in its own little protective cover/personal greenhouse, and they all have wonderful, full leaves. There isn't one shriveled leaf anywhere. Actually, my basils look just like the ones pictured here. I couldn't be happier! Thank you, Bonnie Plants!🪴

The Basil plants were sent out without the same care as other plants I've gotten from Bonnie's. My suggested is to read the "most recent" reviews as well as the 1 and 2 star reviews. I've ordered Bonnie's plants before but this is the first time I've ordered Basil. Don't order the Basil plants. They are just too temperamental. I've ordered the Rosemary and also a four pack of Rosemary, Sage, Oregano and Thyme. These were very moist upon arrival and just needed a good watering and sunlight to bring them back. These Basil plants may not make it. First of all, they are about one third the size they show in the picture. Very skimpy and new looking. Each plant had 2-3 leaves and that is it. Very new and delicate. They were so dry that the dusty dry dirt shook out of their plastic containers into the box. I don't think they were roughed up, I just think that whoever is sending out the Basil is not taking the same care as the other plants. Basil needs a good watering and wrapped in plastic around the pot to keep the moisture in. Bonnie's should know this. The refund was easy though. Just go through the Chat Function.

I’ll update in a week so far they came as they should in the mail slightly wilted pruned the weakest leaves and we’ll see. They survived nicely harvested and waiting for more before the end of season

I have noticed that you can buy basil plants at the grocery store these days, but I have never had much luck keeping them alive after transplanting. I was impressed with the packaging for Bonnie Sweet Basil plants. They arrived in a sturdy box and were enclosed in plastic towers so that, even if tipped upside down, the plants stayed in place. My four plants arrived healthy, planted in what I believe was a mixture of soil and peat moss that was not dried out but needed immediate watering. Not a single plant was dead or even had acwilted leaves among these bright green basil plants. At about $6.00 each, they are a bit pricey, (minus 1 star) but the packaging justifies the cost, I tell myself. I am not patient enough to tend to seedlings or anemic grocery store plants. These robust plants arrived in excellent condition. I recommend Bonnie Sweet Basil if your budget allows.

These plants always do well. They were shipped in their own personal plastic green house each. They held up in there for a few days. I couldn't plant them due to a cold snap that hit us. I just gave them water and sun. They are now huge! I get so much basil from them I have had to start drying it for future use. 3rd year buying them. Cheaper then the local stores. Great flavor! Makes my sauce taste better!

These are not the same quality that you would expect. I ordered these last year and they were amazing - NOT so this year. They arrived looking a little wilted but never recovered. Two of them have died and the other two are struggling. Don’t waste your money.
