Bits N Things Gourmet Vine Leaves Stuffed with Rice, 4 lbs 70 oz

I must lose some pounds after a stroke, and I try to eat less calories. This vine leaves stuffed with rice are very tasty and also less calories. I always like Dolmas and eat them every time I go to a Greek, Lebanese or Turkish Restaurant.

I got 2 cans of Gourmet Vine Leaves as my favorite, Emirelli, were not available. The 2 cans arrived quicly and in good condition. Each was filled to the top.They were firm, not a lot of liquid floating in can., I tried one, there was an odd taste to it. Since I am used to stuffed vine leaves with olive oil, I tried rinsing in cold water then putting olive oil over them. This did take care of the odd flavor.The vine leaves were tasty enough, a bit chewy with stems and such but still good. I might have bought more except for their price increase, which puts them at a level of some better tasting stuffed vine leaves, IMHO.

I highly recommend it. Authentic cuisine and the best soft grape leaves. I have tried many different items and none compared to the quality and edibility. You too will love it.

The can arrived slightly dented but the dolmas inside were just as good as at many Greek restuarants (lots of places don't make their own anymore....). There were a lot, but not as many as people might imagine because part of the weight is the liquid they're packed in.

I have purchased 4 cans of these. The first two were very good. The third was not good and tasted kind of fermented (was returned)... I waited a while and bought another. This new one is not as bad but just not good enough to ever buy again. Could be me but these taste not so good anymore. I love stuffed grape leaves and eat a lot in restaurants.
