lavendar love
I used this powdered food coloring (lavendar) to coat my Mexican wedding cookies. I wanted to color them the with colors from the theme of theshower. The color is very subtle used in the powder form. But when it is added to any liquid it becomes much brighter in color. The container as advertised is SMALL. I used two whole containers to do 2 batches of cookies. So that didn't make it very cost efficient. The cookies are inexpensive to make, but with the color, they became much more expensive. But, if you want to pay a little more for this product, it's a solid product. And, the cookies were very pretty.

THIS ITEM IS NOT EDIBLE
I was under the impression that this luster dust was edible, what with the "developed for the cake industry" and "ideal for use with gumpaste or rolled fondant," and "Intended for use with the dry form, they may also be mixed with oil-based flavorings or alcohol for painting and highlighting with air brushes. For more permanent application, liquefy with Tylose gum glue or confectioners glaze." BUT BUYER BEWARE: if luster dust is not FDA Approved as edible, then it's not edible. This luster dust is NOT FDA Approved. Spend a couple more bucks and buy luster dust that is FDA Approved as edible. We don't need pretty cakes and cookies this bad that we'd eat something that's not edible.
