One of the best, much better and easier to use than an adjustable depth type.

This is a great distribution tool! It looks and feels premium and with the added "gimmick" of gravity/self-levelling it's a fun tool to have. The distributor has two parts: the levelling part (the heavy-silver-stainless steel thing) and the handle part (black-light-hollow aluminium thing) which houses the levelling part. The levelling part screws into the handle part and because the tolerance between the two is very small, when you turn the distributor upside down the levelling part slowly lowers down from the handle.My only dissapointment with it is the gravity thing itself...oh, and also that it comes without a "coaster", like the tamper or the non-gravity distributor.Because it's self levelling you can't set the depth, so you drop it in the basket and it levels itself off, after which you spin it and get a nicelly levelled bed of coffee. BUT! because the levelling part it's quite heavy, when it sits on top of the coffee bed it also tamps it quite substantially... A levelling tool should only level the grounds at the top so that you get an even tamping when you tamp, but this gravity levelling tool does tamping before levelling, thus pressing down the uneven grounds from the top into the middle ones. That's why I'm not sure it actually improves the extraction...
