A great asset...with careful installation.
This was a necessary and long overdue product for our bathroom. We already run a floor standing dehumidifier in our "dressing room" and so were used to the principle. This is the best option on the market at a reasonable budget as far as we are concerned. It is neat and smart looking with what appears to be excellent quality materials used in its design. Some have said in other reviews that it is noisy!...but what you are installing is, in effect, a similar sort of compressor that is in the back of your average fridge freezer...it will make some sound. We installed the permanent water drain pipe through the wall via a 20mm conduit pipe pipe, leading to a large collection bottle in the next room. The electric cable was fed the same way on the other side. (SEE PICTURES)We wired the unit to a timer switch outside our bathroom door. (SEE PICTURE) works brilliantly and is more controllable than a humistat. Its a great little unit that works well. Due to the timer switch outside the bathroom, we never actually touch the main unit itself. Its left on the continuous setting.Totally recommended, but you do need to know what you are doing if you put one in. (HAPPY TO ADVISE)As others have said, a paper wall template would have been useful especially if you intend to exit the pipe & cable through the wall you mount it on, as we did.We think ECOAIR have produced a good product.

Brilliant solution to damp bathrooms
We bought this for our little bathroom. I was tired of wiping down wet windows and surfaces to try and stop the growth of horrible black mold. Having had a portable dehumidifier for another damp room and finding out how brilliant they are we decided that was what was needed. The electrician was a bit surprised that we chose this instead of an extractor fan but we explained we didn't want to lose our hot air in winter - there is no heating in the bathroom so it's already chilly and the unit creates warmth whilst it runs. If it's warm we open the window instead, if it's cold we can now use this to do the drying. After showering we normally just hit the 2 hour option and shut the door behind us - it turns itself off. The drawer is nearly full after I have done this twice (it comes with a hose if you prefer to plumb it into the waste pipe). It's fairly quiet and the water drawer is easy to empty even though we have it mounted quite high on the wall.

very happy
works brilliantly, emailed customer services before purchase and they were very helpful. Had a bad mould problem in the bathroom and this was the only one we could find that could be fitted inside the room. Had to be fitted by an electrician, but worth it. Nicely tucked away high on the wall, large tank needs emptying every other day, with 4 people using the shower daily. Makes a slight noise like a fan, but I don't find it in the least irritating.

Works but doesn’t last and is very loud
It did do a good job of drying out the cellar. It’s not the quietest to start with and after a few months started making a horrible loud noise which could be heard throughout the entire house. Would sometimes freeze itself up and then leak everywhere. It served a purpose but wouldn’t buy again and don’t feel it’s worth the price.

Works well enough but it's a bit noisy...
Have this conveniently wall-mounted in my bathroom. I have a Georgian house that suffers from condensation problems, if the humidity is not kept lowish (50-60% - you'll need a humidistat to know this, about £15) I get black mould in the internal corners of rooms. Sucks the humidity well enough but is more Ebac (a bit on the clunky, whirry, rattly side) when it comes to noise level, rather than Mitsubishi (extremley quiet indeed with no rattles - even after four years). I have had several floor-standing Ebac, Meaco and Mitsubishi dehumidifiers over the years. I still have two Mitsubishis, but the Ebacs and Meacos have long since expired. It is handy having the EcoAir wall mounted though and this is one of the few dehumidifiers that is actually designed to safely operate in a bathroom. It's IPX4 rated splash proof. You do however need to be either a building inspector, a qualified electrician or some sort of natural genius to work out where you are legally permitted to install an IPX4 rated electrical product within your bathroom, (check out building regulation 'zones' within bathrooms). Mine is in an unusually large bathroom with all the correct, fused wiring so not so hard to fit it in. You switch it on and off using the big switch on the front, there is a remote controlled version. Water tank is the grey bit that slides out to empty. It can be plumbed-in with a drain hose if required. It's a pity Mitsubishi don't make a wall-mounted dehumidifier, I would have definitely bought one if they did.Update - September 2016: Now even noisier - slightly more rattles, whirrs and clunks. I expect the warranty is about to expire - actually no it isn't, looks like it has a 2 year warranty so I might be ok here!

This works well
Cleaned up the mouldy silicone and the black tiles, installed one of these and the problem has gone away completely. Please note that this is only good for a relatively small room like my bathroom. If you have a larger space please consider one with twice the dehumidifing capacity. Also note that this is not silent. It’s not loud, but not quiet enough for a bedroom.

First one only ran for 6 weeks; second for 4 weeks
Worked fine for 6 weeks - then just stopped working - would not turn on, no power light or anything. Replaced promptly by Amazon - and the second one has just done exactly the same. So we'll have to go for replacement again as it's hardwired into our shower room. Not v impressed given that our portable Ecoair unit has lasted years and is fantastic.
