Quick pain relief
It works great. I actually put a small amount on several different joints where I ache and also some other body parts as well like some upper arms or on my legs if I'm aching. Within 10 to 15 minutes I have stopped hurting so bad. I actually only use this once a day usually. Couldn't be morepleased with this product. I have fibromylgia and due to having other health issues like heart etc I had to go off all meds for my fibro. My neighbor actually gave me a bottle of this and I was really relieved and surprised to see it really works. I also use it and it helps if I exercise hard or have muscle aches from doing anything like extra bending or stooping. Has really helped my low back pain also. The only thing I wish was how much of each ingredient was listed on the bottle. I take a magnesium tablet each day but my heart doctor don't want me to over do the magnesium so I do have to get blood work for this now. Hopefully this will be on bottles in the future.

Great for improving sleep quality/sore muscles
I love this "lotion" though it is not really a lotion, it is more of a gel. I rub this on the bottoms of my feet before bedtime and it really improves the quality of my sleep. The only thing that I see as a drawback is the texture/feeling of it when first rubbed on the skin, but the benefits far, far, far outweigh this minor annoyance. Also, I have recently discovered that if my muscles are sore (for example after a long day of yard-work/gardening or hiking), I rub this on the affected area and it will alleviate the soreness.

No noticable relaxation
I bought this lotion because I have severe chronic back pain and will try anything that might help. I thought the magnesium would relax my back muscles, but I haven't noticed this effect. It is very slippery and would make a good massage lotion, but other than that, there's no noticeable effect on muscle relaxation. Just to note: I am probably not deficient in magnesium, since I take it orally with my calcium, so that may be why additional transdermal application isn't helping.

Dr. Shealy's Biogenics Magnesium Lotion (8 oz.)
I have great respect for Dr. Norm Shealy's work and generally like his products that he sells or recommends. I would prefer all organic ingredients, but I very much like this form of magnesium and have been using it for several years. I've learned that it's a critically important mineral to have in our bodies and that absorption through the skin is the best way to administer it for maximum utilization in the body - by avoiding the digestive system. I generally put it on my body at night and it gets absorbed as I sleep.

magnesium works
Over the past two months my husband and I have been taking Magnesium through my skin to treat our migraines . We started using Derma Mag spray. It is very pricey especially if you get it from there site like I did. It worked great we both had less migraines and slept great. I became a believer in Magnesium not necessarily the specfic brand name. The problem is I have really dry skin in the winter and the spray was really irriating it and it was becomming painful to use. My father wanted to try magnesium so I researched reviews on amazon and bought this. This does not make my dry skin worse and it does not burn. My father wanted it for his sleep problems which have already started to improve. I am taking this in the morning and the spray in the afternoon because I need to rub the 2 teaspoons of lotion all over my skin and some twice as I am small framed and so it works out to do it in the morning before I get dressed it is a tad time consuming in a rushed morning though, but in the afternoon when I get home from work I used the spray because it is a lot quicker to use and does not take as long to apply and I don't have to strip. I found that using them together still gives me the results and since I have been using the lotion in the morning the afternoon does of the spray does not bother me much. Another reason I mix them is because you do not get as much magnesium at a time with the lotion as compared to my Derma Mag. I do not like that the lotion has other ingredients in it besides Magnesium, but in my case if I did not use the lotion I would not be able to use Magnesium in the winter. I really thinnk that will use one of the cheaper sprays in the summer when my skin can take it and stop using the lotion because of the added ingredients.

So far, no stinging :)
Purchased this item after researching Magnesium supplementation for carpal tunnel inflammation. The lotion is very smooth and light, absorbs quickly, and so far, does not sting, or cause itching upon application - yay! There is also, no gritty, or unpleasant powdery feeling after it has dried. The dosage is two teaspoons, twice a day, so we are thankful that there has been no discomfort in applying it early morning, and again, before bed. Time will tell on the carpal tunnel, but we are hopeful and determined ;)

Where are the legitimate references for these claims?
After reading Linda Shelnutt's great reviews, I decided to go ahead and order this. I then started doing some research online because the many listed benefits sounded almost too good to be true. Shealy claims alot of things including that topical application of Magnesium increases DHEA levels. However, from my extensive research, I could not find any controlled studies done showing topical application of magnesium increases DHEA or even oral consumption of magnesium has any affects on DHEA. Because of all these miraculous claims and no published peer reviewed controlled studies, it is hard not to have doubts, considering there are so many scam artists/products out there making claims in a similar fashion. Have anyone been able to find any trustworthy sources to backup Dr. Shealy's claims?I just ordered it a few days ago and have not received it yet so I'm only posting this based on my research to inform others that there are no solid, legitimate, references to backup Dr. Shealy's claims. I will update this review in the future.

Sent wrong item
I love the product itself. I have bought the spray for years. It has great absorbency, wonderful pain relief and it a good value. What they sent was not the spray and for some reason the bottle has a paraben in it where the spray does not.
