A fun story about a Scottish Cow for my grandkids to illustrate our Scottish Heritage

the illustrations are cute, and hamish is the classic name for a heeland coo. i needed something like this for people who are not from scotland. it surprised me that the coo's hair was the focus and he finally went to a salon. while it is a cute story, it is not for anyone wanting a cute story based on any reality. there is a famous hamish in scotland, a great attraction, and fine coo. however, if all you want is a children's story from scotland, it fills the bill.

Good story about a jubilantly cow with some hygiene hangups. Good for talking to kids about the importance of personal grooming on their social lives.

Bought this for my son since we have highland cattle. A very cute read

This book is beautifully illustrated telling the story of Hamish and his first trip to the hairdresser. It has a big surprise at the end that toddlers find delightful. I have bought several copies of this book as gifts as well as having a copy of my own. A firm favorite.

Cute book! My son loves it. Wish it came in board-book format, he has "read" it so much that we have had to tape the pages back together.

I bought this book as a present for a boy who was nearly three. It was perfect and he loved the story of Hamish the highland cow who badly needed a haircut after he got all sorts of nasty things stuck in his long hair. It is a great read and the pictures are fun and a good way to show children that having their haircut can be fun.
