The album was partly developed during live performances, and the band premiered an early version of the suite at London's Rainbow Theatre several months before recording began. 'The Dark Side of the Moon' is the eighth studio album by Pink Floyd, originally released in March 1973. The new material was recorded in 1972 and 1973 at EMI Studios (now Abbey Road Studios) in London. Piper at the gates of dawn was my first ever album purchase on cassette when I was 15, still have it kicking around somewhere. 68 this year. Have purchased Dark Side on cassette and CD, my wife had the original on vinyl but her rubbish record player had ruined it. Hopefully my Denon system wont. If you already have it on vinyl, maybe give it a miss, but if you have a decent turntable and only have the CD, then this copy is well worth the money. Review: Perfect - Good clean press. I am gradually purchasing the classics on vinyl,this is a no brainer. The , probably greatest of Pink Floyd's albums. This version sounds better than my CD,more warmth and depth. Stunning package.
Beautiful package emulating the original first 1973 release with a matte sleeve. All the poster/postcard extras as well. Heavy-duty 180g vinyl; it sounds amazing, better than I remember back in the day!

Satisfied
I was lucky enough to see this live at Merriweather Post in Columbia MD. Left a lasting impression on me, especially the quad sound which I think is the only time anyone used it on tour. Glad to have the remaster. One of the best produced albums in history in my opinion.
