To start, I did have some issues with the dangiu/PicoMemcard firmware update that was originally suggested by Bitfunx. The Bitfunx team was very responsive and suggested I try the MrPalloncini/PicoMemcard firmware, which is much improved in a number of ways. There is one caveat, being that if you use FreePSXBoot you will also need to modify a line on the index.txt file, which is honestly extremely easy to do on a PC. But, let me get back to the PSxMemCard itself.The Bitfunx PSxMemCard came with a 512MB SD card that was formatted and ready to use. I noticed some people complaining that it only appeared to show a 128kB memory card image. The thing to understand is that the PS1 itself has a 1MB memory card limit. What this PSxMemCard does is allow you to create and swap between several virtual PSX memory cards on the fly. The number of virtual memory cards that can be created on a 512MB SD card is pretty insane.Bonus features if you use the MrPalloncini firmware and FreePSXBoot+Unirom --This combo adds the feature of automatically creating and switching to virtual memory cards on boot depending on the game CD. You may need to modify the index.txt file as mentioned earlier to keep FreePSXBoot as the default image during startup, but after that it's been smooth sailing. No need for manual card swapping, and every game gets its own card. Life is good! :)

People are probably buying this for mods but I got this because I needed more storage. Has a really good feature where you can add “volumes” of storage by dropping some files via a computer, and you can switch between them on the ps1 memory card menu with a button combination. I also like the LED light that turns on when it’s connected to show its seated in its slot properly

I can transfer save data from pc to Ps and ps to pc without problems. The sd card allowsto save as many games as I want. I recommend getting this if you are a retro game lover.

Yes it works very well for backing up and transferring save files to a emulator, which is something I did end up doing recently.However there is a small headache part when trying to use it as a regular MC.Pressing (start+select+up) or (start+select+down) softlocks my games, not allowing the memory card to access a save on another emulated MC, the only way to revert the softlock and regain controller function is pulling the MC out and plugging it back in.So as for backing up saves I totally recommend it, but as for use as a regular memory card I absolutely do not.

Make sure you read the user manual for this, it doesn't work exactly like a normal memory card.You need to do a button combo on your controller to swap to or create a new memory card image if you fill one with save data. Once you do that, you can save more data and switch between images as needed for your games.I've only used this for saving so far. I haven't tried running ROMs off it or anything, but it works for my purposes.

I needed a ps1 compatible memory card to use my ps1 games on a ps2.Works great and I am now getting new life out of games I've had for 30 years.

Works and is much better than those cheap 1mb (don't get them) clone memory cards. You can upgrade the firmware to a fork that uses gameid by MrPalloncini. This device is fantastic when paired with Tonyhax International or Unirom freepsxboot.
