This squat bar is great to reduce back pain. The design causes the weight to be lower and forward compared to straight bars. That, combined with the handles, retains the bar on my shoulders enough to allow use of one arm to steady myself as I go down and up. Then I don't have to lean forward so much to stabilize, so less back stress. Also, when I use this for calf raises, the weight is far enough forward that I don't have to hold the bar at all - it just stays on. Now I can use my hands to steady myself against the squat rack. Sturdy construction for at least a couple hundred lbs, and I don't doubt 700lb rating, though I will never test it.

I wanted to get a trap bar that was easy to load and unload with weight. This is great for that. And the handles not being very high compensate for the extra inch or so that the bar is off the ground. I love the way it sits flat and it seems sturdy for only being 20 pounds and being bolted together.

This bar will definitely help with older folks like me or people with shoulder mobility. Easily put together and works well. I only go light as I am 55 years old but feels sturdy. Note, make sure you use clamps or a collar as the bar is really slick( no tooth) and plates will easily slide off.

This is not a great bar. My only real complaint is that I did not see anything that said it was a three piece bolt together bar and it rattles a little bit. That being said, it feels sturdy and the padding is comfortable. If you are setting up your gym and you think you might want a safety squat bar, or you need one because of a shoulder injury or something, but you’re short on cash, this is a good one to try out for the price. If you have used a safety squat bar and you know you want one, spend the extra money. But it works fine. There’s nothing wrong with it.

Good quality solid

The equipment was easy to set up and use. Though I would be interested to know how this bar will hold up in the long term.

Underrated bar! Didn’t think much of this bar when I first got it since it comes in 3 pieces but a little loctite in the screws and after 6 months, I have ZERO complaints. This bar is not only perfect for squats, but also standing calf raises and good mornings and lunges.

Bar did not come with the hardware needed to make it work. There are 4 tapered head screws that are needed to construct the bar. Had to end up buying my own hardware and retapping the holes, due to the non-standard hardware needed. Could have returned it, but it was a pain to repackage and a waste of my time, being I live far out of town. I read other reviews where hardware was missing. I’d pass on this bar, and move on to the next if you can. Overall look and feel of the bar is on par with my other olympic bars. Hole alignment is on, but the missing hardware makes this a no-go for me if I had other options available.

I was initially a little hesitant after reading a review which mentioned poor balancing. However since using this item I have found it to feel great. The handles are positioned at a slight angle away from the bar which means depending on which way the bar is facing the weight will shift more towards the toes or heels. I have actually used it without hand support in both positions and it was fine, but shifting to the toes does make it feel more secure. All round it is a solid bar and good quality, I would certainly recommend.
