The U.S. Navy issue mil spec g-1 is crafted from 100 percent goatskin and manufactured to military specified patterns. The jacket features a bi- swing back for comfort and ease of movement, top entry front flap pockets, a large interior, and snap close chest pocket. The full frontal wind flap is stamped with usn. Underarm grommets for ventilation, nylon lining along with wool blend knit cuffs and waistband complete the picture. One change we have implemented is using the originally specified genuine silky lambs wool shearling mouton collar like that of the WWII era version for a more luxurious finish instead of the currently specified synthetic acrylic collar. As this jacket is sized according to military specifications, ordering one size larger is recommended for a looser fit or your regular size for a true to size fit. Available in regular and long sizes. Made in the USA of imported leather.

Excellent Jacket - well worth the money I paid for it!
I own an A-2 jacket made by the Cockpit that I bought in 2007, and I can say in the nearly 10 years since there have definitely been some major improvements to construction and overall quality by this company. While my A-2 is still a great jacket (antique lamb skin model), the seams in my G-1 seem a lot tighter and the leather overall is much nicer than I expected. Having seen some issue jackets, this version is definitely a cut above. The fur collar however is not removable which I thought was a standard feature but most military jackets of this type have a fur collar anyway. Sizing can be tricky. I bought my normal size (42) and the jacket fits very trim and impressively "military." On the flip side I feel like a 44 would have been too baggy. A half size like 43 would be perfect but no jacket is made to that size obviously. I bought this jacket at a steal ($410) and the price has gone up a bit but if Amazon does another prime day you can get this jacket at a ridiculously low price of around $350. I would recommend it in either case.

Truly a Mil-Spec fit
I bought this jacket on a whim, sight unseen. I have had many companies say a G1 is mil spec that isn't a true mil spec. I am 5'10, 210 lbs, have a muscular build, and went with a 44R. The first was spot on, dead on accurate to how the original military jackets fit. Now given, in service, I would have went with a 46R for more room in my chest, but i wear this jacket as business casual, so a proper fit was needed. The goatskin is very high quality with natural grain throughout. They took the time to use the correct parts of the goat hides to match the different areas of movement in the jacket. Meaning, the chest is slightly thicker, the pockets are soft, the gushers are soft, the back pleats are soft, the back piece is a nice thick choice cut, the half belt actually feels like a belt (the way it should). The goatskin says brown. This is more of seal brown (dark, almost a charcoal brown). The mouton fur is real, very very soft, extremely warm and gentle on the neck. The collar is properly made to be flipped up, and it stays where you want it on those frosty cold days. The collar is a dark brown that matches the collar of the jacket. The wool blend cuffs and waist band are not the cheap wool that scratches the skin. These are very very soft. They are a slightly lighter brown than the goatskin. It has a map side entry slash style button pocket on the inside left chest. The bi swing in this one is sturdy, and I have yet to get the bat wings look from raising my arms. The price for what you are getting is fantastic. At roughly $500 you couldn't do better. This is a true mil spec quality made G1 reproduction. No side entry hand pockets, just like the originals. If your going for the original fit and feel of an original, look no further than the Mil Spec G1.

Wow, really good 👍
Feels like a comfy sweatshirt, looks great and quality is outstanding. I could see myself wearing this everyday everywhere. My only wish would be an extra inch of torso length to bring the waist a smidge lower. Otherwise, perfect 👌

Definitely worth the money. Good customer service.
This jacket is by far the most comfortable one I have ever had. You can see and feel the quality. I get complements every time I wear it too. The fur collar is pleasantly soft when turned up against the wind. These jackets are reasonably sized. Buy your regular size. Go one size up only if you intend to ware an extra layer underneath. The Navy issues these jackets for 35 degree F to 55 degree F weather. They have a thin lining but are not insulated. They tend to look best with a propper trim fit. A true classic G1 jacket right out of history!

Nice Jacket for Young Guys with slim bodies
These jackets, naturally, are made for young airmen, so in order for them to fit properly the jackets are made for slim bodies. When we older guys think we can still get into jackets such as these, we're fooling ourselves, unless we haven't put on any weight over the years. Beautiful jacket, but I reluctantly had to return it.

A great product
Reminds me of my dads Navy G1 with a better woolen collar and Premium goatskin leather. It’s a military slim fit. Buy it one size larger for layering. Recognize that if you buy your normal suit jacket size the bi swing back expands 2 sizes. So if you don’t intent two wear more than a dress or T short go with your suit size
