It stopped working 6 months later, not worth it

Excelente ajuste y funcionalidad en golf sportwagen 2013 mk6, la herramienta que adjuntan para su instalación dá la oportunidad de que cualquier persona la puede cambiar. La calidad de los materiales se siente robusta, espero que tenga larga vida de trabajo.

Excellent fitment and easy replacement! There is even the specialty tool included to make this replacement even more convenient.

To my dismay, not only was this product orders of magnitude cheaper than OEM ($35 vs ~ $400) but somehow it also appears to be better built (so far). The latch itself is metal compared to the plastic on the OEM one. I suspect the actuator will not last as long, but I’m more okay with replacing this thing once every 2 years at its current price point. I’ll update if/when the item fails (posting this 3/2026). I’ve posted a video of the problem before replacing the latch, should it be helpful in other’s diagnosis. Came with the required tools (just an M8 and a T20). Vehicle: 2016 Golf R
