Excellent product- good looking, well constructed, well balanced and a good writer
Excellent product. Well constructed, looks good and writes very well. Its my 5th M2 fountain pen covering all of their nib options. They all wrote well from the box, better than a lot of more expensive pens which sometimes need adjusting. So great pen, great nib, good ink flow - lovely purchase, it will be my hardwearing handbag pen for day to day, out and about writing.

Hongdian M2 Brass (Fine Nib)
Absolutely superb pocket pen which honestly is better than my Kaweco's. Aluminium is standard for M2's but I liked the look of the Brass version. Being made of Brass makes it heavier but coupled with the small size gives the pen a solid, "dense" feeling in the hand which is very satisfying. Only & a quarter turns to uncap which is excellent for a pocket pen. The spring clips main function is to provide a roll stop, the Kaweco's don't need this due to body shape. Does work OK but it grip isn't super tight. Of no concern for me as I never added a clip to my Kaweco's due to their small size. The nib is excellent, another Chinese "Knott" engraved nib, very smooth and wet when writing. An interesting observation is that Hongdian didn't just produce a Brass version of the M2 as an exact duplicate of the Aluminium M2's. Brass is significantly heavier, it looks as if it was produced by machining bar stock, and posting the pen, which as with the Kaweco, you need to do, would make the pen unbalanced. However, they made the Brass version so that it posts more deeply on the body and this adjusts the balance point making the pen very comfortable to use. An attention to detail that should be commended.

A decent starter pen
The body of the pen feels good quality and nicely balanced when the lid is posted. The fine nib is still quite thick compared to most other fountain pens so be cautious of that if you prefer a fine line. The thing that lets this pen down is the clip. It looks and feels cheap which is such a shame.

Writes well
I really love this pen. I love fountain pens in general but I really adore this pen because it’s so cute but when you put the cap on it’s normal size and very easy to write with. The grip is really good and the pen is well made. I got the blue pen but there’s much more to select from. The ink flow is consistent and thick.

Smooth, quality pen, excellent value, rivals pens ten times the price
Very impressed, excellent value for money. This is a fabulous pocket pen, it feels well made, writes very smoothly comparable to pens ten times its price, feels good in the hand, come with converter which fills well, or you can buy cartridges if you prefer. I was so impressed I bought a second one plus cartridges (better option for school) for my grandson to use at school. I have a Pilot Prera and the M2 wipes the floor with it. I use mine posted and it is well balanced even with the top posted. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a good pocket pen, I should also mention the top is a screw on as opposed to click on.

Magnificent M2 pen
Beautiful little pen. The moment you pick it up it surprises - Quality feel and finish - lovely colour (military green). Very nice smooth nib - nice neat writer. Wet nib. Nib is a fine and was more like a medium. Excellent value for money, especially as a converter is included.

My favourite pen
There is something about this pen that is exactly right for me - the flow, the smooth nib (not as smooth as a medium Lamy LX nib though), and it just make me want to write. Whether inexpensive or not, I would grab this over my Lamy LX Studio, or 2000, every time. I now have three M2s with different nibs and ink, and will no doubt get more just to have them around. It just turned out that This Is My Pen. One in the pen loop of my Lochby journal, two with my pen case. I even ditched plans to buy a Waterman Carene, just because I realised I would still just grab my M2. If I had only one pen, it would be this (the army green one with medium nib). It loves Jaques Herbin ink which just flows so perfectly and dries quickly. Better than Waterman ink in this pen (and the other way around with a Lamy Safari). The small capacity converter is an annoyance, but OK. For travels, I take a bunch of 3.4mm cartridges which I buy in bulk from a well known Chinese site for almost nothing in bags of 50. (Tee-moo) I know we are all different and the whole thing is very subjective, but I honestly do not need (or covet) any other pen.

Hongdian did it again!
I have been using this pen for about a week and here is my review: Packaging & Accessories: 8/10 The pen comes in an oval metal box. I have another Hongdian fountain pen and the packaging is the same. The pen came in a plastic bag for additional protection. Aesthetics & Quality (10/10) The M2 is a nice little pen. Aesthetically the lines are pleasant to the eye (I like squared lines to curvy ones) and it appears to be well put together. It comes with a clip that is very usable. It has a nice medallion with the Hongdian mark on top (it appears 3D) and Hongdian M2 stamped on the side of the cap. The concept is similar to the Kaweco Sport and other pocket pens: the cap is quite long and the pen itself quite short (see pictures): once the cap is posted the pen becomes full size. The materials used is probably alluminum well anodized. The pen comes with a converter, which is bigger than the one offered by Kaweco for the Sport and very to use. Similarly to the N11, the converter has a reinforced nipple and it can be disassembled for maintenance. The pen has an O-ring in the section to avoid accidentally unscrewing the body from the section and probably one more in the cap, as when the cap posts I can feel a nice positive engage from it: it won’t fall even if you violently shake the pen. Overall, very good quality. Nib and wiring quality: 9/10 The nib looks like a number 5: I didn’t try to unscrew it, but I imagine you could. It is dark colored (ruthenium?) which matches the same color of the clip. It is very smooth with some nice feedback (not scratchy). I enjoy writing with it very much. Weight and Dimensions: 9/10 The pen is pretty light as you would expect from a pocket pen. Being made of metal, it is heavier than a plastic Kaweco Sport, but definitely not that heavy and it feels pretty well in the hand. Closed it is about 4 inches long and capped it is about 5 inches: by no means a long pen but long enough to write comfortably. Cost & Value: 10/10 The pen costs $19 on Amazon which is definitely not expensive and cheaper than a Kaweco Sport in metal. Considering that you get a nice pen, with a clip and a converted (the last two items are options for Kawecos and need to be purchased separately), this is a nice little package. Conclusion: (46/50 –92%) Hongdian did it again! This is another nice pen, especially if you are looking for an expensive pocket pen with substance (metal construction) and with the added bonus of a nice sized converter.

Voto 10 su 5! Impressionante!

Poor redesign of the M2 cap.
FIrst, I love pocket pens, and I generally love the Hongdian M2. Incredible value for the money. I purchased the new Titanium M2 with fair bit of excitement because Ti is an amazing metal. Also, this model was sort of the M2 version 2. The silly cat logo was gone, the clip was improved and the ink train - cartridge converter to nib - is the same outstanding system as every M2. I really want to love this pen, but I don’t. For some inexplicable reason Hongdian decided NOT to include a cap liner. This is the plastic sleeve inside all their other pens it helps keep the cap in place when closed or posted. Not included on this one. As a result, day 2, after cleaning and inking with Diamine Blue Black, cap comes off in my pocket, ink stain on a white shirt. Fortunately washed out. But after using pen for over a month now, this is common and indicative of a poor design. This not a one off. Multiple reviewers have commented the same thing. See the difference in the Ti vs the brass caps. IF Hongdian were to rework the design and put the cap liner back in this would be a 5 star review… but at best I will only give 2 stars.

Compacte nieuwe klassiker uit China
M2 compacte superdegelijke pen. Fine nib schrijft zeer degelijk, nat en zonder onderbreking. Ideaal met Hondian inkt. Voor elke kleur broek heb ik een passende M2. En zelfs mijn tienerzoon viel als een blok voor dit pentype.
