Nice compact light with visible light cutoff
These light come with a remote control, and with it, you can switch between road mode, with a visible light cutoff to avoid blinding other road users, and a flood mode that illuminates the top as well, so that you don't ride into a branch sticking into the trail. It's designed to be mounted underneath a bike computer, and comes with a GoPro adapter. I'm using with Peak Design's bicycle phone mount that has a GoPro mount underneath. The light is quite yellowish (similar to a soft white bulb). Comes with a two button wireless remote. I'm not crazy about the mount for the remote - it's essentially a very long narrow piece of Velcro, and there's no good way of mounting it. Unlike newer lights, you also can't have the remote control a rear light. The remote uses a disposable battery. Light body is aluminum. I don't know if the front is glass or plastic, but it's very clear. Batteries unfortunately are built in and not replaceable. If you need a light that mounts below your bike computer or phone, this is a very good choice. I'm sure there's better ones, but probably not at these price point, and not many of them comes with a visible light cutoff, flood mode, and a wireless remote control.

Top quality, bright light
It's another fantastic light from Magicshine. The quality of the product is outstanding. This is the third light I bought from Magicshine. You may wonder why buy three lights if they're so good. My first upgrade was to improve brightness a couple years ago, this time I bought it because of the up-side-down mount for use with another bike. I had some trouble making it work with the Magicshine app. I contacted the customer support and they replaced it with a new light that worked correctly with the app. The app allows to edit the intensity and the flash patterns of the light. Once set up, you can toggle between the different modes with the remote control. I wish the remote control could also be paired with the rear light. This would allow for a much faster and safer way to turn on the rear light.

Great Headlight, Great Support
The Magicshine EVO 1300 is a really good, really strong bike headlight with just one issue. First, the light itself is very bright, strong and with good battery life for it's size. It's definitely not light, but it's reasonable for this type of light. I love that it hangs in a handlebar mount with Garmin mounts at bottom and top for other accessories. It has several optional displays, including high and low beams that are really good and courteous to oncoming drivers. The only reason I knocked it down a star is that in my experience the remote was not reliable. First the remote worked, then it didn't. Resetting the remote sometimes worked for a while and then it stopped again. I got top notch customer support from Hannah at MagicShine - they were all over it with replacements and working with me, but for whatever reason the remote would never work consistently. The truth is though, for most people, the remote is completely unnecessary. Really, is it that much trouble to reach an extra 6 inches to tap the buttons on the light itself? So if you want a good light, with excellent customer support, don't let the remote issue slow you down.

One of the best bike lights on the market, with exceptional beam cutoff
This headlight is a great value and features a great beam cuttoff that allows good light through while not blinding other path users. The batter life is pretty good two. the remote button for the high-beam function is great! Ideally I would like to see a battery indicator that is visible while riding the bike rather than on the bottom of the light. Additionally it would be better if the beam pattern was a little brighter towards the horizontal center than it is on the edges for better distance contrast.

Great Customer Service
PRO • Customer Service — the mount broke off from the light so I reached out to customer service. The response was quick and I was sent a replacement part in a reasonable amount of time. Thank you! • Light Output — amazingly bright and the cut off is sharp CON • None

Nice, bright. Needs better indicator location.
Pros: Bright, good mode options, nice below the bar hang, good remote Cons: power indicator/power button on bottom of light and hard to see , run time limited by on board battery, instructions could be a little more detailed All in all, a good light. Nice level and flash options. Good beam cutoff. But, as other reviewers have noted, power button/level light hard to see because they are beneath the light when mounted. If Magicshine were to swap locations of the power button/level light and usb charging port, that would be excellent. The power button/level light would then be more visible and accessible to the rider. The button us rarely used though because the remote control also can turn the light on/off as well as cycle through functions.

Fantastic light but…
This light is super bright with a wide range in front of me lit up while riding, which is great since I bike commute to work a lot in the dark. However, after a few seasons using it this year, I have learned the cold weather zaps it pretty quick, and now I keep a charging cable at work to recharge for the commute home. A light should really last longer than one hour! Also, it is super difficult to find the blink setting. I have only found it ONCE. AND that was by accident. So there really only is the low and high settings to use. The dual mount that also holds my Garmin is a great space saver for my handlebars! The remote is nice to have, but has fallen off a few times and sometimes doesn’t work at all. This is why I have taken a couple stars off.
