A well made chainsaw
Iv had a number of chainsaws so it found it easy to put together. I noticed comments about the chain tensioner being flimbsy you need to slacken off the plate that holds it all together then works perfectly. The power cable is thick and well protected. It cuts really well as seen by my pic. It is a bit heavy but thats not a bad thing. On the whole a good electric chainsaw and well worth the money.

Like a Hot knife through butter.
Brought this chainsaw some time ago to cut logs up, never got round to using it until now. Have to say I was very surprised by the cutting power it will cut 4x4 posts like a hot knife though butter, it helps the chainsaw is new but only time will tell. The build of the saw seems to be of a good quality, it’s easy to use but always read the instructions first. I like the stop bar for emergency use or if you just need to stop the chain turning to make safe. Ideal for cutting up logs and wood as a whole including trimming the trees and hedges. Also has a very long electric cord. very pleased. Thanks.

Effective inexpensive chain saw
I have used the Einhell chain saw a couple of times, now, both for extended periods of time to cut back the tops of overgrown Laurel bushes in my garden. Assembly instructions are more than adequate for putting the chain saw together and filling up with chain saw oil (bought separately). The power chord is plenty long enough too.The chain saw feels a little heavy but manageable. Because the operating handle is set to the right, it complicates cross cutting from left to right because the body gets in the way a little. I am particularly impressed by the safety features. The chain stops rotating immediately the button is released, and the guard at the front prevents it being operated when pressed forwards. It’s been effective at cutting off about a metre from the tops of my 3.5m high Laurel bushes - about 30-35 metres across. A good test severing the tangled thickish branches. The chain has come off 3 or 4 times, which is a bother, and I see other feedback has reported the same issue. Straightforward to reassemble the chain and an opportunity to clean out under the chain cover and fixing screw. I’m hoping this issue is down to how I am using the chain saw - cutting a tangle of branches at odd angles - rather than something more sinister. I do check the chain tension at intervals so don’t think it is because the chain is too loose. Maybe when used in a more conventional way, like cutting logs, it might not happen. Time will tell. All in all I am more than pleased with the power and performance of this Einhell Chain Saw particularly when taking into account the price I paid, Great value for money.

Good well balanced chainsaw.
Purchased August 2016 as a replacement for 1800w electric Makita saw that had seen out is 20yr lifespan cutting firewood. For under £70 I was not expecting anything fantastic, but must say I was pleasantly surprised at what arrived. If you have experience with chainsaws then it is less than a 5min job to put together, if not grab a cuppa, read the instructions, and when you do assemble it; make sure the chain is the right way round (look at the chain from above - the chisel of the teeth should point to the tip of the saw).Fill it with chain oil, be aware this is not supplied so order some to arrive with your saw, do not be tempted to use anything other than chainsaw oil or you will balls your saw up quicker than you could imagine!!Tighten the chain so that when you pull the chain away from the bar, the guide teeth JUST remain in the groove of the bar. The included guide does show this for you. As you use the saw the chain will get hot and stretch, so check this after the first few cuts and then periodically. The tensioning wheel/mechanism feels a little flimsy but; having used for a while it seems to do the job admirably. Also remember that once you have finished cutting to loosen the chain, because as it cools it will shrink so this will prevent damage. The supplied bar and chain are of a good quality by a market leading brand (Oregon). Not the best they do but adequate for occasional home use. Plenty of meat on the cutting edges to sharpen. If you intend to use this saw on a heavier duty/regular basis then you will probably want to have a backup bar and chain to hand. That said for occasional use the supplied items are perfectly fine - I have used weekly for 3 months cutting appx 5 cubic metres of firewood for winter and I am nearing the end of life for the original chain.Oil consumption is far superior to any saw I have owned in the past, one full tank lasts me approximately 45mins to an hour of cutting (old pallets, ply, chipboard kitchen units, up to 6" diameter logs of varying types)No faults have occurred with this saw over the first 3 months of regular use, nothing broken as others have reported, both the automatic (release of trigger) and emergency chain brakes have operated as required. The tool free functioning saves hassle too - no need for additional spanners or screwdrivers for routine maintenance or dismantling for end of session cleaning.I have also found the balance/weighting of the saw good for longer cutting sessions & haven't suffered fatigue in wrists etc as I have done with other saws. Also by using the motor casing as a sight/guide I find this cuts a suitable length to fit in my woodburner! All in all for a saw that cost under £70 I can recommend as a good buy. It would have been nice for the feel of the adjuster to be a bit sturdier and for at least some chain oil to have been included but this certainly does not take away from giving a 5 star rating.
