Lapsang Souchong Black Tea (Box of 25 Tea Bags)

I have been told that Lapsang Souchong tea is a developed taste, mostly by people who haven’t developed it. It has been described as tasting too smoky, or like gunpowder. [I’ve never tasted gunpowder, so I can’t say.] Hu Kwa tea is some of the best Lapsang tea that I’ve had. The brand has been imported by the Mark T. Wendell Tea Company for over a century— it was originally grown only in China’s Fukien province, but is now grown on the island of Formosa (Taiwan). It’s coppery-red in color, and less harsh than other Lapsang Souchongs that I have had in the past. Recommended.

The smoked flavor of this tea is really my favorite. After 6 months traveling in Asia, this was my favorite among all the possibilities. Even for mixology, this tea with gin is a work of art!

Hu Kwa Lapsang Souchong is now my favorite of the few brands available. Deep, rich, intense, piney aroma coupled with its inherent smoky nature makes for a superior tea. If you like Lapsong Souchong, you may find this variety the best and most aromatic available. Very highly recommended!

I like lapsang souchong, but it is hard to find in the US, especially in bag form. This is by far the best I've found - a clear robust taste and smell. It's my standard now, I reorder it regularly.

This is really good tea. Rich, interesting, and not bitter. Just the right amount of smokiness. A good Lapsang Souchong is hard to find, but for me this is it.

This tastes like bacon/bbq sauce. Great if you like that flavor, but not what I'd like in a tea. Also, the strength of the aroma even outside the packaging gave me a headache.
