Would this be suitable to seal a leaking Bain Marie? It would be constantly under water.

Hi, |This is really good as a heat resistant sealant, we are talking v/hot such as stove chimneys not hot water. However, I used it to seal where the metal stove chimney went through the fibre cement workshop roof and it is still sealed after 12 months, no rain comes through. There are other products out there that would seal even under water, the product which comes to mind is called Evostick 'the dogs etc', you can get it at Amazon too. Might be worth contacting evostick about using it in a Bain Marie as the heating and cooling may be an issue.

Would this be good for sealing around a gas hob where it meets work top?

All I can say is I put it round a stove metal chimney stack to seal it from the rain getting in, the chimney stack gets really hot and it was sealed months ago and is still watertight to this day, so I would definitely think what your going to use it for will never reach the temperatures like a metal chimney stack
