After casting around and reading a lot of reviews a while ago, I had come to the conclusion that affordable good shaving double edge butterfly razors weren't really being made new anymore. So I got a vintage Gillette razor that has served me quite well for a few years now.Then I wanted to get another one for the 2nd bathroom and did the same thing. This example wasn't as good a shaver as the first, so I went looking into the newly made market again. After some more research, I landed on this product and am well pleased with it. Pleased enough that it has become my #1 everyday razor.Like the other reviewers have said, it is made of quality materials, feels solid and sturdy and most importantly: gives you a close, comfortable shave every time. So far, I've been using a used Astra blade in it and it has performed flawlessly. I'm looking forward to trying one of the brand-name blades they included in the kit. And the long handle is also a nice feature my other razors didn't have - and I like the extra grip and control it provides.Overall, a well made, solid, quality affordable double edge, butterfly style razor that will give you years of excellent service. Forget the three, four, and five blade razors you see on TV! If you want a razor that gets the job done, this is the one. After years of using "cartridge" style razors, I purchased this razor earlier in the year, and I don't see myself going back to cartridge razors.I don't shave every day, but when I do, this razor really gets the job done. I use it with Edge Gel for sensitive skin. The razor has a nice heft to it, though it's not too heavy, which I personally like. I usually wear a goattee, and shaving around it is no problem at all. Admittedly, I haven't tried "under lip" and chin shaving yet, because of this, but I assume it works there as well as it does everywhere else on my face.Since I've been shaving with cartridge razors for so long, I'm still getting used to using this razor the "right" way, but so far I am extremely happy. Now if I can just find high quality replacement blades.I would highly recommend this razor for anyone looking to make a change from cartridge razors, and anyone looking to save some money on shaving supplies. It's more "up front" cost, but the replacement blades will likely save you a decent amount of money in the long term.

One thing I really enjoyed about buying this product was the customer service I received from the manufacturer while waiting for my package. They kept track of everything. The second thing I enjoyed was the fact I got everything in the description; The razor, blades, and stand all came in one box. The razor is very Sturdy and sleek to say the least. The third thing I enjoyed was the shaving experience. I'm a female who purchased this mainly for the fact I have really sensitive skin (and for the cool factor of course). The safety razor does all the work for you! It's heavy enough you barely need to apply any pressure, The blades it comes with are super sharp so you can't even feel them cutting your hair! I used this on my arms and legs and did not once feel the usual tug and pull like you get from a conventional 5 or 7 blade razor. Just smooth sailing and a great experience. I've already recommended this to friends and they would agree with me on all of this. BEST BUY! You won't regret it.

I actually did purchase this product, but have deducted a star to balance solicited reviews. Note that one reviewer has written three glowing reviews. As for the product, it seems well made, but a longer handle would be better for womenI am old enough to have used safety razors before plastic razors existed, and am happy to see the era of the plastic razor slowing down. Plastic is killing our planet, and I'm also old enough to remember how we forgot that for so very long--too long. This razor feels solid and seems well made, but if you are a woman, you might be happier with a single blade, longer handled razor--which I hope are also being made in metal. I used this on underarms and legs, and quickly remembered how very sharp a true safety razor can be. I had forgotten that I needed to be gentle with it; the blade is sharper, the razor mostly balanced for face-shaving, not leg shaving. And I did get razor burn on my underarms--if you choose to use a safety razor, expect to be very gentle. I have no complaint about the razor itself--but I do advise women to look for one with a longer handle, and those with a single blade are better balanced for shaving legs.

I haven't had any experience with other safety razors but what I've experienced with the Freelogics butterfly razor I really have enjoyed. I've only ever shaved with cartridge razors. I would only ever use a Gillette Mach 3 because any more blades and the head would be so thoroughly clogged after the first pass I would never be able to finish shaving.I have nothing negative to say about this as I have had nothing but a positive experience with this razor. The butterfly open allows for quick blade replacements which are about as often as a traditional cartridge razor.The blades really do last. I typically get about 5 or 6 good clean shaves before I toss the blades. With the cost of cartridge blades I wouldn't have dared do this before.The shave has been far closer and less irritating on my delicate skin which has actually encouraged me to shave more frequently.I really do love this razor and I wish I had tried out safety razors sooner.
