Hormel Compleats Tender Beef with Mashed Potatoes and Gravy

Low calorie and super easy and delicious! The mashed potatoes are thick and perfect. Beef is tender and tastes delicious like a pot roast flavor. And only 60 seconds in the microwave!I'm on a diet and this is an excellent option for my meals. This one is lower in calories than the other types of Hormel meals too btw.I hope Amazon gets them back in stock soon, i want to order more of them!

I was looking for quick, easy, shelf stable protein. I'm tired of frozen meatballs and beef jerky isn't typically a meal. Enter Hormel Completes Tender Beefs. This isn't a gourmet meal but it checks all the boxes. Good texture, good beef, nice potatoes and gravy. It was the right portion size for me. I still have a couple for future use but would order again. I basically keep them on hand for emergencies.

So this is a product that sits on the shelf in the pantry. No need to refrigerate them. Just microwave them for a minute and you have a very tasty lunch.

I've been eating this and other varieties (and competing similar products) as a part of a dietary meal plan, so I thought I'd share my experience. I'm not going to focus on nutritional details since that's readily available on the package. Instead I'm focusing solely on subjective experience, and since I ordered like 20 different kinds I'm going to use a standard template because I'm lazy that way.PREPARATION: Heating time was accurate; one minute in a 900w microwave oven on a rotating plate completely heated the entree.OBSERVATIONS: The mashed potatoes were "okay" but not special in any way, entirely reminiscent of instant mashed potatoes. I don't have a problem with instant mashed so this didn't bother me, and the plentiful but not overwhelming supply of gravy was a good accompaniment to them. The beef tips were a mixed bag; on the plus side they were very tender and flavorful, but on the minus side there wasn't much of it and all of the pieces were very small, somewhere between the size of a peanut and a lima bean. I don't necessarily mind the small sizes but the combination of small sizes AND low quantity is enough to override the quality points.VERDICT: Not a favorite, but good enough as these things go. I might order it again if the other entrees aren't any better.

I have tried this lots of times I like that the meat or container has a lot of protein since I have been through cancer and I need to build up the body, the potatoes in other of their products are better, but it’s passable, very handy You don’t have to refrigerate it only for two dollars you should try it that’s very inexpensive ,takes a minute to cook. Have use quite a few were there other products the chicken breast with her potatoes has been improved very good, you should try.

Unbelievably tasty!!! I buy these for my elderly mother to microwave a quick meal for herself, so I taste test each new one I buy. Most are okay and some I just don't like, so I didn't have high hopes. She loves the chicken and potatoes and we both like the turkey and dressing. I heated the beef tips dinner and meant to only eat a spoonful because I was cooking something else, but I wolfed the whole thing down while standing at the counter. This will be a permanent addition to both our pantries!!!

Shelf stable meat with gravy and potatoes! A great find, cooks in one min and can be dry stored for a year and a half. A bit high sodium, but add fresh veggies and you’ll have a big tasty meal.

Terrible! TERRIBLE!!! Not only did it taste bad, but it also made my entire apartment smell awful for hours. I purchased several of the Hormel dinners in varying flavors. So far they've all tasted like you would expect dog food to taste and they smell like it, too. The MRE's in the military taste better than these. The only good thing about them is that they cook incredibly fast and they can be kept on a shelf. But so can Barilla pasa dishes...and THOSE are delicious. I'll not be buying Hormel again.
