Is the tension adjustable?

Yes, they are adjustable. There is no tool, I just held the lock but with my thumb. I've used these once, unsure if I like them, HOWEVER, I cut 20 to 30 head a day. These would be very good for home haircuts

How do I sharpen these? I only used them a few times and they are already dull.

Also…DO NOT CUT ANYTHING BUT HAIR or you can easily dull your shears! This is one reason your stylist washes your hair before cutting it! I did a barbershop experience where we didn’t wash hair, only sprayed it with water. Cutting men who did construction and tree work, the debris in their hair quickly dulled my shears! I was not happy!
