ChimellaChimella - The Chimney Umbrella

A useful product, does seem to cut down room drafts quite significantly. Perhaps seems a bit expensive in some ways but in terms of ease of use and the comfort levels from room warmth, I would recommend it.

I had a chimney balloon which didn't really do the job and was fiddly to fit / inflate (£20 false economy - as they say "buy cheap but twice"). The chimella is well built, feels and looks top quality to match the price. Packaging is high end as well (I know it ends up in the bin but it is part of the buying experience). My chimney flue starts off at an angle and is not straight up like the video / diagram. It took a couple of goes to find the right starting point to hit vertical flue otherwise it slipped down, but in my view it's not a fault of the product and the ease of use meant it took about a minute to suss it out. The previous balloon didn't have anywhere near the reach the chimella does and didn't fill the flue like this does. Very pleased with the purchase. Jamie.

I really want this to work. Such a good idea and it seems so simple. However in reality it's a poor fit and VERY VERY MESSY. Putting it up means getting practically into the fire place and dislodges loads of soot (our chimney is swept regularly). The whole thing is coated in filth and then you have to take it in and out to have a fire, bringing soot down each time. After a few times up it doesn't hold anymore, instead can be heard moving up and down in the draft as it works loose. Back to original solution of wood board.

Great idea but the item was faulty. Then took 2 emails from me to chase my refund.

My living room is always freezing and only noticing that the draught was coming from my fireplace and chimney I decided to go online and find something to block it off with. I came across chimella. This product is fantastic!! Easy to install, make sure you read the instructions as it’s not like an ordinary umbrella. After installing I noticed my living room was so much more warmer. What a great product!! Can’t believe I did not find this sooner

Simon, thank you for the great friendly service and great product. The original standard size that I purchased was too small, so on recommendation took the large. Fitted perfectly. Refund was prompt - one phone call.

Fantastic product!!!You really notice the difference with draft coming down the Chimney and how much cosier the room is. Also quick and easy to use.

Amazing idea. Not easy to get in place but once there it stays until you want to remove it. Have no rubbish or dead birds descending down our chimney and no heat going up the same way! Would recommend.
