Product Description Another hit-heavy '80s classic: I'll Tumble 4 Ya; Do You Really Want to Hurt Me; White Boy (dance mix); bonus tracks Time (Clock of the Heart); Love Is Cold , and more! .com Against the cynical, post-punk backdrop of the early Thatcher and Reagan era, Culture Club's debut release Kissing to Be Clever was as refreshing as a scoop of gelato in a heatwave. These were the innocent days when Boy George could still declare he'd rather "have a cup of tea than sex," well before he hurtled to the brink of near self-destruction. Several of the cuts are still amazingly fresh and easily convey the winning charisma that transformed Boy George and his band into a pop icon. Songs like "I'll tumble 4 ya" and "Boy-Boy-I'm the Boy" seem tailor-made for the frontman's smooth-sliding tenor, while Mikey Craig's bass grooves pump with dance-til-you-drop Hi NRG. Although relatively brief (the original LP had one more cut than the CD release), the album stylistically hops like a Mexican jumping bean from disco funk to rhumba to reggae and contains obvious filler material. But the gender-bender flair perfected by Boy George announced a unique style that helped define the decade. --Thomas May

~ The Culture Club "Kissing To Be Clever" sounds better than ever! ~
1982, The debut of Culture Club, "Boy George and Company" on Kissing To Be Clever is a decent album all the way through. Updated graphics and liner notes are superb! THIS is what CDs should have been in the beginning.I was very happy to be a part of the 1980s as a teenager, turning "13" in November 1979.If you are a fan of Culture Club, especially in the timeframe of 1982-1986, I highly recommend getting THIS edition to replace your worn out Cassette tape, if you still have those! The original CD is nothing compared to this one. Trade that in, if you can for this nicely done, updated version.Graphics have an overall dark pink, purplish color to the set.** TRACKS ARE ~White Boy (Dance Mix)You Know I'm Not CrazyI'll Tumble 4 YaTake ControlLove Twist (Feat. Great Album From A Great Band
One of the best bands to come out of the 80's I have been a big fan of Culture Club since I was very young back in the 80's of course.Having just bought and received the remastered CD of Kissing To Be Clever I was delighted how great the remastered tracks sounded and the extra tracks sounded great too.I was surprised it had Time (Clock Of The Heart) as one of the extra tracks I thought it was released on the original release if I'm not mistaken. All and all I am enjoying the CD and I will cherish it for years to come.

The download is the U.K. version of the album (Virgin V2232), not the Epic label U.S. release.
The download does not contain the bonus tracks and contains the U.K. version of the album. Earlier reviewers have mentioned that the order does not match the album. It does match the version released as Virgin V2232, which does not contain Time (Clock Of The Heart) and has only 9 tracks in the exact order as in the download. My vinyl copy is the U.K. version and it matches the download exactly in number of tracks and track order.

Notice to Collectors
Be aware of the fact that track 13, titled "Romance Beyond the Alphabet",is the instrumental version of "Time (Clock of the Heart)".While listening to the CD it can make you do a double take...you think for a moment that the same song plays twice, until you notice that Boy George does not sing in the second playing.

"This Album Showed The World The Best Artist and Group"
This is the album the song "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me" came from, and it is worth the price just for that song, really a million dollars it's worth. Not to mention the dance rockers that are worth a million dollars as well. "White Boy" is very enertaining, with Boy George rapping at the end. He can to that better than anyone else I heard. "You Know I'm Not Crazy" rocks, and you can never get tired of it. Boy, Boy (I'm the Boy) is brilliant, and it is true, George is the Boy. A real classic is "White Boys Can't Control It". It is so bad, it is good. With his soulful voice, not only did this album show that the best artist hit the scene in the world, but so did the best group. All the rhythms and beats on all of the songs, including "Love Twist", are impossible to ignore. They can tingle your skin as well. A brilliant masterpiece from a new group. Remember, "He's the Boy, He's the Boy! "
