Vital VGL1000-01 Volcano Stone Cooking Tile, 8" x 12"

This item is a nice quality but is packaged poorly. The manufacturer Packaging is minimal and shipping package through Amazon is poorly done it is not protected at all and I was totally surprised that it survived the travel without cracking breaking or chipping. I definitely recommend Amazon to better package this item for protection.I am hoping this item lives up to what I’m hopeful it can do.

I bought this over a month ago after my trip to Portugal, and wow it has become a permanent part of my BBQ griddle. I've used it to sear a nice ribsteak to perfection, cooked pizza on it, or even as a diffuser plate for indirect cooking, this thing does it all. It doesn't have those little pores so nothing get's stuck and the stone remains super clean; I simply scrape off any excess fat with a the back of a BBQ scraper and voila good as new! Made in Italy so I am pretty sure this will last my lifetime. Very satisfied with the product.

I use this on my grill to reheat frozen foods. Like Pizza or chicken nuggets for the kids.

I had the other kind of stone with the holes everywhere and every time we cooked with it, including chicken breasts, it was always very moist and tasty. This stone dried out the pork chops, dried out the chicken breasts like cooking over a grill without a stone - I don't recommend it unless you like the novelty of just having a "stone". Also, it does not clean very well at all - they make it sound like it cleans easily, but the pork chops left a horrible stain that won't come out.

There was a hole on the tile and returned right away. The item is not worth the price.
