A couple weeks ago, I reached for my Anker Soundcore Strike 3 headset to jump on a Teams meeting, and the "bow" creased and broke in my hands. I spent that meeting (and the rest of the meetings that week) holding my broken headset to my head like a DJ standing over some turntables. Ugh. I needed another headset (and quickly) that would meet my needs. Durability (especially in light of my circumstances), decent audio, a boom mic, an easy-to-actuate mic mute switch, and reasonable comfort were my selection criteria. Would the Klim Impact do the job?Certainly the Klim Impact made an impression when I saw the product listing. Yes, it was mostly the extremely low price, but it was also the self awareness in the opening bullet points... they came out and plainly stated that the headset would _not_ be competitive with units costing 7 times as much. Practically speaking, that changes nothing, but it was interesting to get a bit of honesty in the product listing. As far as the headset goes, it's more interesting that I expected at the price point. Here are some observations:1. the headset is pretty light. I spend up to half of my workday on meetings, so it's nice for the unit to be as comfortable as possible. Being light means that the Klim doesn't have to work so hard to try to reduce the APPARENT weight of the headset2. (but related to 1) the headset has a decent suspension. Rather than relying on a single, padded bow like my Anker headset, Klim opted to use a metal bow to manage the position and tension of the earcups. A fake leather, padded top strap manages the split of the weight distribution between the earcups and the top of the head. It's fairly comfortable, even in extended wear3. the styling looks like something that would have been considered "gamer-y" back in the late 2000s. Even with the RGB, it's not too garish, though.4. the ear cups don't pivot! I'm sure it was just a matter of coming in at a low price point, but the fit is not perfect as a result. There's a but of give to the earcup foam (which is comfortable). Obviously this one is very user-specific, but I would have loved for it to be able to pivot a bit.5. the sound quality is fine, and works great for meetings. I'm told the mic is fine, too. How was the audio performance with challenging material? Well, let's just say that auditioning these with video content wasn't bad. Casual Spotify listening was ok, too. Beyond that, well, let's just say that they're not Sennheisers. All that said, the reason I use a headset for meetings in the first place is for noise isolation, and these work well for that.6. the 7.1 gimmick - it's not uncommon for two channel headphones to advertise 7.1 capability. First... the ".1" part of that is supposed to be a subwoofer, which you can't really replicate with 40mm drivers - even with closed-ear headphones. The rest is just a psychoacoustic algorithm that attempts to simulate positional sound with a variety of techniques (though mostly just delay and amplitude modification). You can do this with ANY earphones, and it isn't that great an effect, anyway7. the in-line controls for the headset are CHUNKY. this isn't necessarily a bad thing, though, as the volume and mic muting are easy to discerns without looking.Overall, I can say that the Klim Impact is a great value for the money. Essentially, if you want something better, you're going to have to pay for it. The thing that's worth noting, though, is that there are plenty of headsets in the sub-$75 range that use pretty much the same 40mm drivers as the Klim - do you really want to spend nearly 4 times the amount of money for the exact same sound quality? I don't. And while it's definitely influenced by my recent experience, I do like that plastic structural piece that failed on my last headset is made of metal on the Klim. Recommended

Good Quality at this price point
You gotta love the seller's candor: "We are honest, the audio quality is below what you would get with a $150 headset but it’s excellent for its price. " The candor alone is worth five stars. We agree. In fact, it's much better than you'd expect for this price. Some features worth mentioning:- Good bass performance- A little high end attenuation with classical music, piccolo, cymbals- Comfortable enough- Volume controls are separate up/down, and large enough to find on the cable without searching- Comes with a mic (hence, for "gaming"), so works for webcams also- Two year warranty- Modest noise cancellation effectTIP Use Berlin Mastering source to test with 7.1 sourceTIP You'll need an adapter for USB-C connections.SUMMARYGreat at this price point. The materials used appear similar to those I've used in the past. If so, these won't hold up over time as the material eventually disintegrates -- but this is over several years of use.

Not bad, not great, sound quality marginal…
If these headphones were even .01 over $20, this review would be total dis tied. But at $19.97, these are marginally fine. If on a budget for gaming headset, then this is your product. If you want high end gamer gear on low end budget, then move on.The Good: Materials are of good quality and should be durable. Ear cups are comfortable. The in-line volume control and mute is a nice feature with easy to find buttons. The Bad: Mic gain is less than optimal. Gamerz (yeah, this old guy went with a z on that - passing on reports from 16 year old, and don’t know how to translate, so cut me some slack, people…) on the other end report that it “sucks.” The sound quality is, well, bad. Noise cancellation? Um, nope, none of that fancy tech, just padded ear pads and maximum (distorted) volume. The Ugly: 16 year old gamer opines “yeah, these are no good. Even at $20 these are a waste.” That’s not a good report …So, why 4 stars? Welp. The vendor openly stated the sound quality is not that of $150 pair of high end phones, and states these are for those on a budget. These are the best quality $20 headset I’ve come across. So, considering the price, I think 4 stars is fair.

$20 really!
Initial Review May 6, 2021The first thing I review on headsets like this is do the ear cups swivel and tilt. So many are designed with the ear cups frozen in place with no hope of fitting over the ears and making a tight seal. Well surprise me.I have to say this is the first headset that doesn't swivel and tilt but still manages to fit my ears and head well and comfortably too. I believe it is because of how soft the ear cups are and the elastic band system employed. Good Job Klim.As for sound these are pretty decent. There is a moderate amount of base, average midrange, and missing a bit on the high end. Pretty usable though.I could not discern any noise cancelling but that may just be me. There was no noise in our house when I tested the headset.Having the volume control in the cord is handy.I recommend this gaming headset.

Durano poco, molto poco.
