Beam looks like a lightsaber
I took this on my first dive recently and had a pretty good experience with it. In the somewhat cloudy water the beam looked like a violet lightsaber and provided modest illumination into a small wreck I was looking at. The biggest benefit, though, was that the tight beam was excellent for signaling in poor visibility conditions. If not for this beam, I might easily have become separated from my group and forced to surface early. It makes for a great backup light and signal light.

Took this to Cozumel with me, and carried it on every one of our 2-3 dives per day. This dive light was the brightest out of EVERYBODY in the group! My dad got a $100 dive light which had comparable brightness-except it was a wide scatter beam great for photography but only extended maybe 20 feet. This Tovatec is so bright I am actually using it as a makeshift HEADLIGHT for my motorcycle while the front fairing and headlight assembly is being built! Without this light, I would never have seen the beauty of the Mnemiopsis leidyi jellyfish we/I found there. With the light under them, their translucent bodies would light up and rainbows would pulse down their sides along the cilia. In normal diffuse underwater light they are rather hard to spot, and up close don't look like much. Holding this torch underneath them, they would light up so that everyone within 15 feet could see them (keep in mind these jellies are about 1" long!)I LOVE the Double O-Rings in the battery compartment. I added some high pressure engine grease to mine prior to going on any dives as it looked just a tad dry out of the box. This light survived being smashed against the boat and ladder multiple times during entry/exit of the boat, and never once flickered or faded. Very pleased with this purchase. If I ever have to buy another flashlight, it will probably be for the large version of this light. :)

Description does not match what vendor sent out
The description in this page is too generic. There are several models for the IFL660. The one they sent me, "Concentrated Beam" does not have the three light settings, just one setting. The description on this page says it has variable light settings. It's hard to tell from the description which model they're sending.See below from Intova's website."To operate the switch on our lights with variable power such as the Meganova, Supernova, Ultra, Security Light, Fire/Utility Light, Tactical torch, Mini torch, and Compact torch: press switch once for full power, press second time for reduced power and press third time for off. To activate the strobe setting, press and hold for 3 seconds from any setting."

Makes you wonder why all flashlights aren't this awesome!
I bought this flashlight for diving but it gets used for everything now. It's rugged, super bright, easy to switch on and off, sized perfectly, and best of all, priced affordably. On my last night dive the other four people were laughing when I pulled out the Tovatec to use as my primary dive light and I also told them it cost me under $50. They all had huge, expensive C-cell behemoth lights. Then we turned them all on underwater and the light from mine literally blew theirs out of the water even though theirs were rated at nearly twice the lumens. At the end of the dive they weren't laughing anymore and were asking where they could get their hands on one. It also works really well on day dives. It has a nice bright sweet spot that works well to light up areas under rocks and inside little hidey holes. One precaution I warn you about though, do not turn this flashlight on in your house with the other lights off. Besides possibly blinding yourself, it accentuates every piece of lint, dust, and pet hair on every surface in your home. Some things I'm better off being blissfully ignorant of. Drill sergeants should carry one of these instead of white gloves.

Probably my favorite dive light
This is quite possibly my favorite dive light. It is small enough to easily fit in a pocket, and since it is switch operated, the batteries are only used when the light is in use, which helps them last a long time. The beam is bright and focused, letting you see far back into deep, low-light structures. It is bright enough to be used as a primary light during a night dive (although I wouldn't recommend that it be used for the purpose) but it works perfectly as a back up light to carry with you in case you need on on a dive. I carry it with me on every dive I do. I like this light so much that I bought 2 of them, and am struggling to resist the urge to buy another one.If it helps for anyone reading this review, I am a scuba instructor in the pacific northwest, and that is where I use this light. The CR123A batteries can be expensive; I would recommend purchasing rechargeable batteries. the following link are the batteries I use, and so far they have worked wonderfully. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EYHO9G/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_44

Fantastic
Got this light before a trip to Kauai, and am very glad i bought it. Narrow, bright spot in the center with a much lighter area around it. Feels nice and solid in the hand, and the wrist strap is easy to cinch down and release. I use the included case for travel, but just put the light in my BCD pocket when i dive. On/off switch is nice and big, and easy to operate with one hand (gloved or not). Works great at depth (60'+) to restore color to things like nudibranchs and coral, and fantastic in the dark. Probably not ideal as a main light for night diving, due to the relatively narrow beam, but it's bright enough that it could be used as one in a pinch.I use it out of the water occasionally as well, but to be honest, i would say it's TOO bright to use that way regularly, heh.
