It's perfect for small cars!
This rack is very simple. It went together in under 10 minutes and holds quite securely to my 1.25" hitch. After reading the reviews, I ensured that the bolts were all very tight and that the little round rubber spacer was left in for support. There is almost no movement possible with this thing, to the point that I question how it would fail if it did. It seems like the only option is to rip open a weld. I put my 50lb e-mtb and my 25lb gravel bike on it and drove around town for a bit. The bikes swung around in the rack as they weren't attached using straps or bungees, but the rack didn't budge. Even when I took a fast turn or bumped over a speed bump, the bikes merely wiggled atop the stable rack.I will update this review if anything happens with the rack. Until then, assume it's working fine for me.UPDATE: The Allen rack is holding up great! I have had it on my car for over 6 months, and I use it multiple times a week. When not in use, I fold it down and then back up when I need to use it again. Safe to say, it has gotten heavy use.I keep a very close eye on the condition of the rack. I regularly check over the welds, hinges, and the hitch attachment point. So far, there has been absolutely no noticable wear or change in the structure. I haven't even needed to tighten it to the hitch!I have discovered some tricks that make using the rack easy and convenient. First, I keep a cable lock wrapped tightly around the vertical beam to secure any bikes I transport, especially if I'm parking for a while. I also keep a few bungee cords on hand to attach to the rack, wrap through the front tire, and hook to the outside pedal. This keeps the bike from swinging, holds the handlebars straight, and stops the pedals from spinning. It is also advisable to put some paper towel or cloth between the rubber, plastic, and Nylon attachment points, as these areas are prone to causing paint damage.I love to use this rack for on-the-go bike maintenence. It works as a decent bike stand for all types of bikes. I can pull my tools out and get to work on a bike right there behind my car. I've even got a little collapsible stool to sit on while i tinker. The rack gives me enough room to turn the pedals and test the gears and brakes, as well as do any other maintenence required.I so highly recommend this bike rack! It isn't the fanciest rack on the market, but it is a simple and elegant design that works extremely well.

A great bike rack...does the job, easy to use.
Very happy with rack. Easy to use and fold. The arms down. Tilts out easily if needed. Holds my bike good but I also use a small bungee to hold bike against rack post and front tire straight otherwise the bike button tilts up and front wheel moved around bumping my car trunk. Helpful would be a metal “o” ring welded on the racks upright post so you could rin a locking cable through it to secure the bike. Someone could just lift the bike over post and steal it as there is nothing to put you lock through. Other reviewers said it shakes when driving...it does but I put rubber shims in the gap where it goes in my hitch which stopped it from vibrating so not a problem. It was annoying when rack was empty as it rattled loudly. Otherwise this is a great rack, sturdy, well made, holds the bike tight, Velcro lashes are long, and hold well. At trail parking people have asked about the rack since it’s nice looking and folds compactly. I highly recommend this rack as price is really good and it made well. Only wish there was a heavy metal loop for the lock .

Almost 5 stars -I wish I could give it 4.75 instead of just 4.0
This is a great bike rack. Easy to install and since it is the deluxe model - the locking mechanism is really great. I have no concerns about it getting stolen off of my car. The picture shows the bikes on our maiden voyage (about 3 blocks to a bike trail) to test it out. The next trip (last weekend) was over 250 miles and it did a great job. The bikes barely moved (I did bungee them together well for the long trip) and the straps held perfectly. Only issue I had is the my bike's male bar rubbed against the rack on the first trip and scratched some paint. I bought some pipe insulation, cut it down to about 1' in length and use that to prevent it from happening again. If it was not for that - this would easily get 5 stars.Very easy to install and very easy to get the bikes on and off. You can see I have a Toyota Camry (purchased the hitch from Uhaul and they installed it for me too) and the bikes fit great - these are large cruisers too. Of course we take the baskets off for the long rides.

Great affordable bike rack
This bike rack works great on a 2 inch hitch as it has a spacer piece that makes a snug fit in the 2 inch hitch. The rack is easy to assemble and not too heavy to carry. I like the fabric straps to secure the bike onto the plastic bracket. The rack fits my two bikes very well. I also like the locking feature so you can lock the rack into the hitch. Great product for the casual biker!

Great for the price
My wife and I bring our bikes to bike trails on a regular basis. This bike rack is great for the price. On the plus side, it is easy to install and to lock. The lock seems sturdy, although a professional could probably break it with a sledge hammer and get it off of my truck's hitch if determined enough. The rack is heavy duty, locks into my hitch in a way that gives me confidence, and has not loosened at all with regular use.On the minus side, there is foolproof way to lock the bikes onto the rack. I use a cable to make it difficult to steal them, but I doubt it would slow a determined professional thief. So here is my conclusion -- if you want a really good rack for transporting your bikes and you don't need to lock them up overnight on it, this rack is a great deal.

This is awesome. Extremely well made, very sturdy. And that red lock feature is very secure. Highly recommend this.
