Transcend Orange-Flavored Glucose Gels - 15gram Packets (36)

I am very satisfied with these glucose packets. They are extremely easy to open and consume, even if you are having an insulin reaction. The flavor is reasonably good, and there's a berry flavor that is available as well. Your body can absorb the glucose much faster than candy, and given that they are liquid, they are faster to consume than glucose tablets and the flavor is better. They are smaller to carry around than the glucose "shots" that come in a little bottle, and they are less expensive as well if you are able to buy them in bulk (I bought the 30 packet quantity). I was a little surprised with the first packet I received as some of them were 7.5 gm packets and others were 15 gm packets -- the 7.5 gram packets had been at the top of the package and the 15 gm packets beneath. By the time I discovered the two different sizes I had already consumed half the package, so I wasn't able to confirm that I really got the full amount promised. But I give these an A+. It would be nice if they could lower the price some, then I could dispense with the Goetz' caramel creams. Even though I love those.

these were delivered promptly and arrived a day earlier than expected. the price was the best available. Only thing to note is the expiration date looked like 2012 so i was going to return it, however, when using a magnifying glass I noticed there was a printing error (line struck through the date) and when enlarged could see it had a 2022 expiration (good) not a 2012 so all is good. Just don't be alarmed if you order it and think expiration date is 2012. It might not be. Use a magnifying glass to be sure of the expiration date before you think about returning the item.

Whenever I need a quick, reliable, never fail glucose portion of 15 g, I can always rely on transcend. I love the fact that it is so portable and easy to use on a moments notice.

As a diabetic, I have used more of these than I can count! They work quickly, and that is the #1 goal. With that being said, I can’t tell you how much I would LOVE to see a few new flavors. Apple, black cherry, Lime perhaps. I am SO very tired of the same old flavors after years of using them. it kinda makes me gag every now and then. Lol I will still continue to use them either way, but that would be amazing to have more choices. Seems like it would a pretty easy venture.

I've been a diabetic for 25 years and have used glucose tablets in the past. This is the first time that I've used the jel. I will not be going back. Each packet holds 15g of glucose where as the entire tube of tablets are only 16g. Very easy to administer to myself. I recommend jel.My only complaint is that I'd like to purchase bulk quantities and not in the 3 unit packing. I'd like to see a 50 unit package.

These are awesome for treating low blood sugars. They're easy to toss in my bag or pocket, and are pretty tough so no worries about exploding glucose gel. They're also easy to open, and I've had no issues even with a glucose level of 35. Taste is orangey. It's not obnoxious, and kind of neutral which is great for getting it down. I way prefer these over glucose tablets. There's no obnoxious chalky taste/texture, and I don't have to count the number of tablets to get to 15 g of carbohydrates. These make testing afterwards easier because you don't have to worry about glucose tablet powder all over yourself skewing test results. I normally carry wipes with me, but it's easier to just treat the low and not have to worry about remembering to wash your hands before testing again. All and all, for me, these are awesome and I love them!!!

How to respond to low sugar readings is serious for anyone with diabetes. Even if you are experienced with the disease feeling shakes, perspiring and other changes are scary. It is tempting to reach for anything at hand, regardless of the carb content, to DO SOMETHING! Transcend provides a simple solution 15 carbs in a packet. Take one, wait for 15 minutes, if necessary take another.The product has a good flavor, can be carried in a pocket, seems to be sturdy enough not to break open like some other products.I keep them in each of our cars, my backpack, and carry one or two in whatever shirt or pants I am wearing.Good solution to managing one of the problems with diabetes,

These items are so darn expensive, and yet... when you have no other source of carbs and a "40" or so hypo, THEN how much would y ou pay??? So - I carry a couple of them at all times, esp. when traveling, and as mentioned, if there's no other ready source and a hypo comes upon you, you will be very glad you paid for these things.I was far away from a carb source of any kind a few weeks ago, and recalled that I had two of these gels in my cargo shorts' pocket, and they fixed me up almost instantaneously. The "taste" is nonexistent to me, at least, but man !! are they sweet!!Top reco, esp. for travelers and outdoors-oriented folks.
