42 Inch Sodalis Travel Umbrella - UPF 50+ Sun Protection - Vrae

I love this umbrella. This is the second one I've purchased. I still use the first one I purchased about 12 years ago, but it is silver and is starting to look a little "tired" . When I saw this umbrella in blue, I thought it was so pretty that I decided to treat myself to a new one. As a resident in San Diego, we have many sunny days, and the UV rating gets higher all the time. As a fair skinned person, I take UV protection very seriously. I've tried UV rated clothing, but always felt so uncomfortable due to the type of material used to create the UV protection. They claim to be "wicking" but that doesn't reduce the warmth I feel. The same goes for wearing a hat. It's just too uncomfortable since all my heat escapes through my head, not to mention how it "flattens" my hair. Using this umbrella makes the heat and sun very bearable as I walk to the gym or run errands each day, and I can wear sleeveless tank tops without concern for the sun. Of course, I've been doing this for years so I'm used to the odd looks I get sometimes, but most people say, "what a great idea." I noticed that some reviews complain about the weight of the umbrella since it is considered a travel umbrella. This weight is caused by the thickness of the spines, which is what makes it such a quality umbrella. But holding it in position has never felt uncomfortable to me at all. This sturdiness is really helpful on windy days. On very windy days I have had it turn inside out, but I just turned the umbrella to face the opposite direction and it reverted back to its original shape. I have since learned how to hold the umbrella so that the dome faces the wind, and it won't turn inside out. However, this happens only on extremely windy days. As far as comfort goes, I once went to a store opening event and upon arrival saw the the line to get in was long and shade was limited; most people were standing in the sun. I did not have my UV umbrella with me, so I grabbed the small black rain umbrella I keep in the car. As I stood in line, I felt the heat despite of the shade that the umbrella provided. It was stifling! That is the problem with regular umbrellas since they don't reflect the sun so you get heated while using them. The Coolibar umbrella stays cool underneath and is very comfortable. I think the $49 price of Coolibar's umbrella is reasonable for the quality. I paid the same price 12 years ago, and in the case of umbrellas, you definitely get what you pay for. I highly recommend this umbrella for anyone who is concerned about UV rays and being comfortable in the sun.

I have been using Coolibar products since 2007. I live in Hawaii and am very fair skinned, so as you can imagine I give them steady business. My UV umbrellas are lost or thrown out after two years. I don't throw them out because they are broken. I opt for the silver umbrella and that model loses its sheen and sharp color over time. I also use it like workhorse every day. The two tier canopy handles very windy weather here when storms come in off the ocean. Coolibar was the first UV umbrella to be reccommended by the American Skin cancer foundation. This mini fits the easiest into medium or large size bag. You could get a cheaper deal on some other umbrella but this is the model you want. It will last and will not be an inconvenience to carry. I love their fashion umbrella model too. 10 degrees cooler under either of these umbrellas.

Excellent protection from sun, perfect size for everyday use. Opens easily with the push of a button; closes easily with push of a button then by pushing down on partially closed umbrella. Highly recommend - (looks great too!)

No idea how well it functions to block the sun seeing as how it inverted immediately upon its first use in a mild breeze. This ABSOLUTELY will NOT hold up against any sort of proper wind, especially the kind of wind you’d encounter at the beach. The size is fine. It’s smaller which is nice — small in the same way a mini travel umbrella is small. It covers just enough but isn’t cumbersome. It opens and closes easy enough - just like any other umbrella. However, the spokes do not seem very stable or durable and, as I’ve stated, it cannot withstand any breeze or wind. I looked ridiculous trying to use it. I opened it, immediately inverted. I tried again, immediately inverted. Tried a third time, immediately inverted and I just threw it aside. Do. Not. Bother. It sucks because I can’t just wear a hat either. I’ve got a huge noggin for some reason so hats don’t fit. I really wanted this to work out but it didn’t.

First, it's a well-constructed umbrella. Very nicely styled and constructed. Secondly, it's really an umbrella for one person - though I did share it with my girlfriend the other day at a soccer tournament. It withstands the wind pretty well, but it will blow inside out in a strong gust if your umbrella isn't positioned in the right way. All around, I love it's color, it's easy-to-carry size, and dependability. I might buy another, maybe a tad bigger and in a more fun color. I'm thinking about it. We go to alot a outdoor activities with our grandkids. Good job Coolibar!

Kept me cool in the Florida sun, then dry in the rain. Very sturdy, compact, and portable. High quality material. Easy to deploy handle, easy to carry. Good purchase. Fair price.

This is the first umbrella I have purchased for shade protection. It really does help! I live in Arizona, so I was skeptical that it would make much of a difference, but it does! I also love that the silver exterior makes it feel a bit less odd walking in the sunshine with it. :) The handle has a comfortable grip, and it closes small enough to stash in your purse or briefcase. I only wish that it was a bit easier to close, as it takes strength to compress the metal rod back to its smaller size (which is required to then activate the button to open it again). Even with that downside, I would purchase this again or recommend for friends and family, as it really does help counteract the intensity of the sun. Coolibar is one of the few companies endorsed by the Skin Cancer Foundation. Be wary of cheaper imitations, as they are often made of subpar materials that don't truly block UVA and UVB rays.

Really makes a difference on a sunbaked day. Cleaver operation but far too fragile. One arm joint broke soon after use.

Es la segunda vez que compro este paraguas de verdad me siento protegida del sol y sus efectos viviendo en Andalucía donde aveces se llega a más de 45 grados centígrados y aveces por donde tengo que caminar no hay sombra asi que lo uso mucho abriéndolo y cerrándolo el anterior lo compré en el 2014 y una de las patitas se me rompió el año pasado pero si le doy mucho uso .

Super Teil,wunderschöne Farbe, cool ganz gut, es scheint sehr robust verarbeitet zu sein, sehr Wertigkeit hoffentlich bleibt es auch so,aber der Versand war lang daher ein Stern Abzug !

De momento lo veo muy robusto y me gusta. Pesa un poquito más que uno normal pero merece la pena. Parece que estás en la sombra, completamente. Totalmente recomendable.
