Tales of Heresy (Volume 10) (The Horus Heresy)

I was worried at first as I am not a fan of short stories but I took a risk and purchased this, I was very surprised and found myself wishing these stories were full horus heresy novels. All the stories are great some taking place before the horus heresy, some during and their was even one set near the end on the Unification Wars on Terra. Over all another great read in the Horus Heresy series.

I loved the idea of this concept of different ideas from the timeline. My favourite is the last church. This book is a great part of the Horus heresy.

5 stars because I could not put this thing down! Each story is different, engaging and new in ways I've not seen in in 40k book. The stories about Angron and his entry to the world eaters was something special!

Really interested book.

Some good short stories but I wish some of them (well one of them) was broken up into chapters.

Great stories that tell the tale of the lives of individual characters as the rest of the heresy plays out.

Overall I prefer the proper Horus Heresy novels to the short story collections. That being said, there are some really strong entries in this one that aren't the usual shoot-em-up sci fi you'd expect from Warhammer. The Last Church and After Desh'Ea were the stand-outs I think but Wolves At The Door and Scions Of The Storm also had much more profound messages than the previous Horus Heresy books. The different ideologies of both sides are really starting to show. I've given ratings for each story below but overall a solid enough entry in the series. Nice little change of format You get 6 or 7 short stories from various chapters or events which give great lore insights to some of the factions.. as well as a bit on big E Fun read, and at least 4 flagship heresy novelists in there

Tales of Heresy is a collection of short stories and provide some interesting background for some of the characters. It is very well written, and by far my favorite book in this series.

This was a very good collection of short stories. My favourite of the bunch is probably The Voice

If you like 40k then this will not disappoint. Visiting characters that pop up through the larger story and each story adds a little more to the overall mythos.

One of the best short story anthologies produced by Black Library; consisting of lore revolving around the Custodians, Space Wolves, Sisters of Silence, Word Bearers, Dark Angels and World Eaters, this book will help any fan of any one of these factions learn more than just important facts but rather learn the true soul of their favorites.
