Professional quality wireless microphones that are easy to set up and use
The Shure MoveMic receiver and microphone set is an ideal companion for a high-end mirrorless camera such as the Canon R6. The receiver sits within a cold shoe – this can be the flashgun shoe on top of the camera, as shown in my photograph, with the 3.5 mm lead connecting to the camera’s microphone socket. The key feature of this device is that the two microphones connect easily to the receiver. I just charged the microphone case and the receiver overnight prior to use, pressed the power button on each microphone to put it into pairing mode and had no difficulty pairing the two microphones. Both microphones are identical in appearance. However, one links to Channel 1 and the other to Channel 2. The identity of each microphone becomes clear when setting the levels. To do this, you need to go to the home screen of the receiver and then go into audio settings. This is achieved by pressing the X button to go upwards through the manuals and then using the controller button on the right to navigate to the desired value. By default, the MoveMic receiver is set to Line output, which gives a very loud -6 dB and forced me to use the lowest microphone volume on my Canon R6 until I realised that this needed to be changed to Mic output, which has a -24 dB output. This allows the audio controls to be set into the normal range. I tested the audio output, ensuring that the volume peaked below 0 dB and was set to around 75% maximum and started recording. I was very pleased to find that with a minimum of effort, I was able to achieve top quality audio to accompany the image quality from my Canon R6. I used both microphones for stereo sound. However, it is also possible to merge the sound from both channels into a monaural sound. The kit comes with a Quick Start kit which gives just about information to get going but does omit some essentials such as configuration of audio settings which is essential. A full guide is available on the Shure website. The kit is stored in a handy soft roll that has pockets for the individual cables, charging case and receiver. This fits perfectly into my LowePro Protactic 450 AW Backpack and is far more convenient than a hard shell case.

Shure MoveMic — a stylish and convenient set with decent sound and a few unique features.
Amazon probably won’t be inviting me to Vine after this review, but I still want to share my honest impressions of this product. First, the positives: This is a well-crafted wireless system with an original design. The receiver, in particular, stands out — it attaches securely to the camera and can tilt forward or backward, which is a nice touch. It feels solid, thanks to the metal mounting foot. A more neutral body color might’ve looked a bit better, but that’s just personal preference. The case holds two microphones and looks nice overall, though I’d love a slightly higher-quality plastic for the price. Opening it isn’t very intuitive — you often have to fumble a bit to figure out how to unlatch it. A small thing, but noticeable over time. The microphones themselves are extremely lightweight, which is great for not tugging on clothing. They also allow for discreet placement under clothes, which really helps keep a clean on-camera look. However, the materials feel a touch less premium than expected. Now, about the sound: This part left me with mixed feelings. Strangely, recordings made directly to an iPhone sounded a bit better than recordings routed through the receiver into a camera. I tried different cables and ran several tests — both indoors and outdoors — but the results weren’t quite what I hoped for. That said, sound is very subjective. To my ear, other systems — even more affordable ones — offer clearer results out of the box. For example, the Sennheiser Profile Wireless or even the DJI Mic produced more polished sound in my tests. In summary: This is a solid system with thoughtful design, especially for Shure fans or those who like to fine-tune their setup for best results. If that sounds like you — go for it. Just be aware there are strong alternatives at this price point.

Good once up and running
Overall the sound quality is great from these and the size is perfect, never mind the weight being super light! The actual build feels cheap, and the one of the microphones keeps disconnecting / having trouble connecting time to time, so not super easy to use. Value for money I would say a 4/10, expensive for what it is and what you get, even functionality wise.

Before buying this mic I had a good one, but it was still necessary to do some editing to improve the audio quality. But with the Shure MoveMic I don't need any post-processing anymore - I publish my YouTube videos the way they are recorded with my Canon EOS 90D. The audio quality is superb, and this saves me a lot of time. Before this mic I had to use audio plugins to do some basic editing in my DAW (Reaper and Studio One), but now I really don't need that. I should also mention that the battery life is great and the bluetooth connection works pretty fine when I use it with my iPhone. I have also used the Shure MoveMic to do interviews on my YouTube channel and it worked out pretty fine.
