Developmental Psychology of the Black Child

I’m currently working toward getting a PhD in counselor education with a focus on being a school psychologist. As a black male, the information in this book is amazing. Dr.Amos articulates his points clearly. You will have a “ah -ha” moment about the material you’re reading. I’m excited to read his other books.

Amos N. Wilson has written several books that I have read. My average response to his book was 95% agreement and 5% disagreement. I enjoyed reading "Developmental Psychology of the Black Child." It contained some outdated and irrelevant information.I found this book to be a very enjoyable read.

If you had already had kids already you might be mad when you read this, but if you are having more you will be happy you read it and you will feel WELL prepared. This is multi-dimensional parenting! You will become VERY AWARE of what your child EARLY needs are EARLY! I mean EARLY! like before the child is even thought of.. EARLY. From Your Diet to Your VICES before you need to stop and cleans your system of before starting the baby making process. This is a short read, but you will use this as a reference guide with a whole lot of HIGHLIGHTER to boot! Buy 2 and pass it around, because if you give this away it will not come back for a while. lol

Words are inadequate to describe how truly remarkable this book is. The author speak to us with a subtle voice filled with concern, compassion,love, sincerity, and integrity. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is interested in self knowledge, self control and self mastery.

Come on Dr. Wilson... Why did you have to leave us brother? One of the 36 Rays of the Sun!! A brilliant text on the Afrikan Child. Piercing, brutally honest, and inspiring! Great Book, I'm sad that I only have one of your books left to read. The Monster, Blueprint to Black Power. All Afrikan Peoples should read each and every one of this tremendous mind surgeons books (texts)!

Bro. Amos Wilson was a person I saw on youtube and he just didn't appeal to me. Sure enough i gave him a shot on a video some yrs later. This book is so informative on the development of our children and make you more keen an aware of the development of our children. Not only in terms of how they develop but how they are developing in front of our eyes!!!!!!Read it 3x back to back!!!!!

Love this book it really change your prospective on life. Open up you mind to reevaluate yourself to make changes in your life and also the life’s you Influence.

Great read. Leaves a lot to be considered

This is a must read for all African descents around the world. You can't go wrong with this book a guide in raising your children. Dr Amos shall forever be one of the greatest African intellectual warriors that ever walked this earth. Rest In Power mighty ancestor.
