Living in South Florida, finding a repellent that works for my skin chemistry has been a process. After trying other options that the local bugs ignored, this Picaridin lotion has done a much better job for me. It keeps the mosquitoes, gnats, and no-see-ums off my skin, even in our heavy humidity. The texture of the lotion is nice. It applies smoothly, dries pretty quickly, and once it sinks in, I don't really feel like I have anything on, which helps when it's hot and muggy outside. It does have a noticeable scent, but it isn't harsh or irritating to me. Just watch out when you open the pop-tab lid. The hole is a bit wide for how fluid the lotion is, so it can pour out pretty fast if you aren't paying attention. I have to tilt the bottle slowly to make sure I don't accidentally dump out way too much at one time. It stands up well to both the climate and the bug pressure down here for me. It's easy to wear and actually does what I need it to do.

Bug spray or oil is usually pretty gross and unpleasant to have to wear. This lotion doesn't work as well as gasoline-reeking, 30% DEET that cost more and comes in smaller containers, but there are plenty of upsides. First, it doesn't make you smell like gasoline. Second, it doesn't leave an oily film on your skin. This actually"rubs in" and doesn't seem to interfere with SPF lotion. I'm not sure how long it remains effective, but it does reduce the instances of bugs buzzing around you. You won't be hiking through the jungle without a few bites here and there, but for bbqs, picnics, and hikes with people that you intend to be intimate with during the day, the lack of a strong smell and greasy feel is worth getting one or two bites rather than no bites with DEET but no action, or dozens of bites with no repellent at all. This stuff will irritate your eyes, nose, and mouth and that is clearly indicated on the packaging. Pay attention to those warnings. Aside from this product not being quite as effective as DEET, my only other issue is that the bottles tend to leak, so keep them wrapped in plastic before tossing them in a backpack.

This mosquito repellent works! I use it on myself and children.‘I like it because it his not sticky and it does not have an off putting smell. It protects us from getting bitten up when we stay near the woods. The container does not leak and is easy to flip open and closed. Highly recommend!

All family members have used this, and not a single bite, once applied! Don’t miss a spot, or those 'no-see-ums' or skeeters will find it! No greasy feeling, we use both the spray & lotion. Works well at the beach, back yard, or in the woods. Sweating/wiping will wear it off a bit sooner, so may need to re-apply, but it easily lasted at least 6-8 hrs.

I applied this Picaridin lotion generously on my exposed arms, neck and ears. This kept the mosquitoes away. I live in west Texas and we get mosquitoes in the summer. I am very healthy and full of verve and vitality, and don't smoke, drink or do drugs. I did, however, notice that I feel drowsy all day when I apply this lotion to my skin. Either the Picaridin or one or more of the 80% "other ingredients" is affecting me this way. I stopped using it and the drowsiness went away. I later did some online research and learned that some ingredients can affect or disrupt the human nervous system. If using this product did not make me drowsy, I would give it five stars.

For the price you pay bottle is very small, maybe less than 100mls. It was delivered half open and product all over the bottle. So not only do I have a small bottle, I have a half empty small bottle.
