Quantum Leap Presents Austin Goh - Wooden Dummy 116 Techniques [DVD]

More for the author than the student.
Without disrespect to Austin Goh, I would liked to have seen a little less trumpet blowing and a better standard of photography/layout of each movement. Conversely Samuel Kwoks book on Wooden dummy is much better at showing positions, the general dummy techniques and the photography and quality is much higher too. I have been through quite a few of these books now and the three I would give 5 stars to would be both of Samuel Kwoks books and Shaun Radcliffes "Simply Wing Chun". Read together and cross referencing will open your eyes and techniques completely. Sorry to be Harsh on Austin Goh, but its a poor relation in very good company.

helpful
as a wing chun practicioner owning a wooden dummy, i wanted to get a start on my dummy and this helps a lot, with a plus side that my dvd player does slow motion so i can really slow it down, but his slow motions sections are slow enough, you wont have a problem keeping up. this is a really helpful dvd and i have learnt a section already. and learning the next later on today.BUT......i have bought this dvd just to get me going, KNOWING i need to be shown by a sifu the absolute correct technique, breathing, footwork etc etc.but like i say, i can now at least approach a sifu knowing the movements, it will just be a case of tweaking it up.this dvd gets a thumbs up from me
