Indispensable
Although one might occasionally disagree with the number of stars awarded restaurants, no one would dispute that this is the most detailed, comprehensive and useful guide for anyone travelling through France.Curiously, in recent editions, Michelin has introduced an extraneous symbol, "l'assiette Michelin", which is no different than lack of a star was in previous editions. More importantly, unless a hotel has a restaurant worth of special mention, they only rarely indicate in the text if such a facility exists and one has to look for the appropriate symbol. Prices in such establishments are not given. This complaint aside, this is still your most reliable guide to the hotels and restaurants of France.

This volume meets the excellent level of these guides over the years
I used it for guidance driving through small towns and cities of France as well to for aid in selecting fine and reasonably priced restaurants throughout the country. It adds greatly to the quality of travel through France.

Always useful, I like the new format.
Always useful, the new format of presenting restaurants first, then listing hotels makes more sense. The changes in icons and symbols for each establishment are also more useful.
