Great for Betta and shrimp
The "soil" is perfect for betta and shrimp, NO ammonia spike. I washed and tested the water in a small tank first then added the soil to the intended project tank. Works very nicely with no mess! No cloudy water!

Love it.... No rinse easy to use and useful for all shrimp families with PH maintenance.
Ease of use and setup.

Best Substrate on the market for planted tanks imo.
This is by far the best substrate I have used since getting into the hobby! Grows everything I have planted in it and my Pygmy Corydoras, Khuli Loaches and snails are all fine with it. I have been using it for over a year with no breakdown and plants still growing great. Get some!

Broken lid
The media could not be loaded. I love how quickly it shipped, however, it loses a star for it being completely broken with the lid

So far so good. Been using about 4 months
So far so good. Been using about 4 months. I have CRS and neo shrimp on it and various plants. All doing really well. Similar to fluval stratum but WAY less messy and no dust. My plants and shrimp seem happy. It's very light weight and so you have to bury plants deep so they don't float to the top. But after roots forming they grab hold well. I have been using in nano tanks 4 gallons or less. Seems to keep good stability in small tanks. I imagine would work even better in big tanks. This and fluval substrate have been my favorite for plants and shrimp. Not great for aquascaping because it slides around so easy due to light weight and round size, but I haven't tried to aquascape so... Dunno.

very different from other brands
This substrate is very different from your average aqua soil. First off the soil is very hard and will not just turn to mush in 6 months.-it is very light, almost light gray.- Keeps the PH stable and balanced.-the container it comes in makes it great for storage vs an open bag like other brands.-no dust at all!!

Second time purchasing, does not bring ph down or tds.
Very very weak soil. Second time purchasing. The only good thing is it does not disintegrate

Great substrate for planted shrimp tank.
I purchased this from a lfs about 8 months ago. So far the results are fantastic. Plant growth is phenomenal. It is very clean, no rinsing. About the only downside is the light weight. Some plants will have trouble.
