what is the recommended plug to put on if using in the uk ?

Being a universal motor it will run just fine on 50hz, however if using in a 240volt environment obviously a stepdown transformer will be required. I use mine regularly with the stepdown transformer...

Can this saw use the 16"+ diablo blade that the makita beam saw uses or does it have to be the Skil brand blade?

I haven’t tried it in my saw, but I’m 99.9% sure the diablo blade would fit. It’s the same size, 16 5/16”, also both have a 1” arbor.
