Wow, the quality of this reel is As good or better than any other reel I have ever tried! Awesome!!!
My brother who I honestly believe to be one of the best fly fisherman in the world if not the best, recommended this reel to me. I can’t tel you how pleased I am with it! There is no doubt in my mind that this reel is the best bang for your buck! You get all the quality of your top shelf reels at bottom shelf prices. Honestly I don’t understand how the quality can be so high while the price is so low but I’m not arguing with it!!! For once, too good to be true does not apply. It is that good and it is true!!! I am pairing it with my custom St. Croix Legend XL that my brother built for me. I think it looks great and the balance is perfect!

Quality Reel
I used this for the first time this weekend and I am sort of an amateur when it comes to fly casting. This reel was really smooth and I really enjoyed using it on my new rod.

Fantastic and affordable product.
The sword 2 is much lighter then the original model. Iv found the performance to be comparable to other higher end models. It has an awesome drag set and in a 3wt it hardly adds any weight to the rod. If your just getting into fly fishing or looking for a more affordable high performance product try the sword 2.

Drag adjustment is useless
I was hoping that this would be a good value reel in a market that seems to be filled with overpriced reels that basically only hold line at lower weights. I don't think it is. The main reason is that the drag adjustment is frustrating and doesn't hold.I was coming off of an Okuma SLV 5/6. I bought the Sword in a 3/4wt. I was hoping to have a slightly larger arbour for less annoying line retrieval. I should've looked more closely. It's advertised as a "mid-arbor", but the comparable 5/6 reel is actually smaller than the Okuma, and the 3/4 version is even smaller.I was impressed by the fit and finish of the reel. It's got a very smooth action, and the drag felt nice. But the drag adjustment was misleading. There are a number of small clicks as you adjust it. However, most of the clicks are just dialing it down so it isn't free-spinning and causing a mess of line. The frustrating part is twofold: first, after many clicks, within what seems like 5 clicks you can go from ideal to free-spinning mess on one side, or molasses-slow on the other. The other half of the bad drag is that it won't hold! You can adjust it to the one position that actually works, and it will either bump or work itself loose after a while.I was driven to buy this after I bought a $20 Croch reel that was surprisingly good and made me think a $50 reel would be much better. I was wrong. Don't make the same mistake I did.Other details that I think my Okuma SLV does better: to remove the spool on this reel, you have to unscrew a cap. Don't drop it in the river while you're sorting out the mess of line that you have because the drag loosened up too much. On the Okuma, there's a lever you use to release the spool. No cap to lose. The drag holds steady, while still offering useful degrees of adjustment that feel like fractions of weight. The Okuma is something like 4,4.25, 4.5, 4.75, you get the idea. This reel is like 0, 0.1, 0.2, 4, 5, 9, 15, 18.

Nice
Seems nice so far, though I haven't used it yet. It is comparable in construction to my other higher end reels. Looking forward to using it. Arrived sooner than expected, which is nice.
