Logitech 980-000467 Z906 5.1 Surround Sound Spkrs

The decade or so old sub-$100 wannabe 5.1 system is finally stepping aside for a better than marginal upgrade and probably moving into the garage.I've only done an initial setup for inspection purposes and the improvement over the old system is clearly evident with much crisper clearer highs and substantially deeper bass resonance. Properly configured, this system should more than adequately saturate my intended space.Adjustment of the different speaker zones is pretty intuitive and clearly represented with the elimination of the control console's indicator lights, this will help to make the speaker zone balancing setup fairly simplistic from what I have seen moving the speakers around in testing.The multiple input options of different types are nice, especially with a collection of numerous components to hook up.My only con so far is the length of the supplied speaker wires, they aren't long enough to be run inconspicuously in a 13' x 15' room, which isn't very large.Should be a keeper once I get more speaker wires.

Best tried and tested most popular 5.1 PCspeakers out there.In some of the newer mother boardsa sound card may be needed.

First and most important...This 5.1 system ROCKS!I am a music lover. From Classical to Heavy...Heavy Metal and I am so far really happy with this 5.1 Logitech z906 system. I also am a PC Gamer and never have I been so surrounded by the game sounds like this system produces. Total immersion all around. The Creative Z sound card, Digital optical cable and BOOM!This is my early review and will see how this system reliability stands after some time. For now...It's the BEST upgrade in sound for my PC ever!

Easy setup. I like that these use standard speaker wire connectors instead of a single rca connector per speaker. The included wires were just long enough for my rear speakers but I know I can use regular wire if I need something longer in the future. I also like that they have a threaded hole in the back for standard speaker mounts The sound quality is great for games and above average for music. Volume levels are great, it can get nice and loud if you want it to, and they don't loose clarity at high volume. Overall I would recommend these to anyone that wants a beefy surround system for their computer.

Después de probar otros tipos de marcas conocidas y dedicadas al cine en casa, que cuestan de media de 1.000€ para arriba con dolby atmos, dolby plus, etc, bla bla bla, formatos que aún no incluyen en los medios que vemos sean dvd (discos) o en streaming, este es un equipo que por el precio que tiene y para sonido 5.1 ya bien establecido en cualquier contenido o plataforma, va… bueno, como va!!! VA DE LUJO.Y tengo el oido muy fino.De hecho otra marcas como digo, en barras de sonido super actuales con decodificadores de sonido que aun no existen en los contenidos que vemos y de existir, necesitarían tener de 9 altavoces para arriba para reproducirlos y no 3 como la mayoría de barras, a lo sumo 5 si tienen altavoces desmontables como las de JBL.Sin enrollarme. No mires más, pruébalo que no lo vas a devolver. Todavía alucino cuando a los invitados les pongo una intro de cine en 5.1 y se ponen a mirar para todos lados buscando de donde sale el sonido. Cine en casa 100% con sonido 5.1. Y el subwoofer ni te cuento. No serás capaz de subirlo del 50%Y así ya vibra todo. Se siente en el suelo y en el sofá donde te sientes. Y ni me pagan, ni exagero. No leas más reseñas, será perder el tiempo. Y ojo. Añado, un equipo salido al mercado en 2017. Ojo también, con acreditación THX que no se la dan a cualquiera ni a cualquier aparato.

NOTE: With any of these DTS or Dolby 5.1 speaker systems, you are very reliant on which soundcard you use on your PC/Mac or which web browser you use to watch streaming media content and getting a real 5.1 signal through any output and even these days it can be a bit of a nightmare for PC or Mac vs streaming media (because of DRM), gaming is pretty reliable now though.But plug in a DVD - Blueray player and set DTS and DOLBY as the output on the device or same for Xbox 1-S-X or PS4. This system is idiot-proof and about the hardest thing to do do the wiring for the speakers and setting the correct volumes for each speaker to be in 'surround' paradise.The PS4 Pro with digital optical output delivered real 5.1 from Netflix, Prime, C4 with no issue and for all compatible games (As long as you remember to tell Netflix and Prime to out the sound as 5.1 and not 2.0!)For Xbox series S, X and PS5 you just need your TV to have an optical out. Or buy a HDMI splitter that has an optical output. Then set the consoles to out DD or DTS and with TVs outputting the optical set the surround mode to auto not bitstream.Quality of the speakers beats all current soundbar options I have tried and the number of connection input options will cover most things you might try and plugin and the fake surround mode for 2.0 content was much better than expected. All that is missing is HDMI input, but most modern TV's will output a digital optical lead which should connect to the system. There is some room for error if trying to output from a streaming USB stick through HDMI to a TV then making the TV output through Digital optical to the Z906. So it might be hit and miss for some users and it's very reliant on what the TV can do or even the USB streaming stick.But plug-in a modern games console or Blueray or DVD and the THX sticker is well deservered. Bass on the woofer I limit to level 3 as above that I'm worried the windows in the room might fall out of the frame. Treble and mid is clear on the other 5 speakers and you can control the volume on the rear pair-front pair (as a pair) and the center speaker and woofer from the remote or control unit.The system blows a £800 Soundbar out of the room. It's just about if you are happy to live with all the speaker wires for a 5.1 system vs a soundbar really for living room use.You can easily add a bluetooth input from phono inputs (if you buy one, Logitech and others all have loads of options) if that is needed or plugin a 3.5 MM jack from phones-tablets etc, direct into the control panel (which also has a headphone out option).If buying for PC the USB input is buggy and you will want your PC soundcard to output 5.1 over the 3.5mm options or digital optical. And be aware you will want Windows 10 and the latest web browsers to run real 5.1 options from most streaming media (Netflix, Prime etc). But it is idiot proof to do from the Xbox or PS4.Fake surround options built-in can override Dolby or DTS (if you choose to) or be used for any normal 2.0 sound sources and are actually pretty good (much better than expected). Really it's like adding a reverb option to your speaker system even most radio shows on BBC Sounds, sounded amazing even with the fake surround option added on a 5.1 system.So it's a great system, but it's very much reliant on what you are going to use to provide content. Some Smart TV, streaming media sticks and PC's may have issues getting the correct signal for real Dolby or DTS content (you can always use the fake surround option). PS4 and Xbox won't have issues or any video disc players. But you can easily plug a Phone, PC and Console into this system at the same timer and use fake surround options when needed as it has plenty of input options and it's very easy to switch between inputs.My only negative so far is the remote is a bit cheap feeling vs the rest of the system.Power usage on about total volume 3.5 is about 100 Watts per hour average, so a bit more than most soundbars or small 2.0 PC speakers but the quality of that output is much superior.Totally recommended for PS4 or XBox for Gaming and Media. PC-MAC and Smart TV's it's very much down to luck on what that hardware can do and if it will output a true Dolby or DTS signal the lack of HDMI is bit of a miss for those options vs some hardware.You won't get anything better for the price (especially the black friday-Prime day ones).So although marketed as a PC solution really this is a killer system for the Consoles and Blueray-DVD users to get real THX quality 5.1. Because the PC side could be very hit and miss and is ultra reliant on your exact hardware and software.

Great product. Good blend of clarity and volume when needed. Nice quality speakers and subwoofer. Setup was easy. If you’re going to use with a PC get a sound card too, the onboard motherboard audio might not always be able to get the best out of these speakers.

Super System. Sound ist auch perfekt. Leider fehlt ein HDMI Anschluß für das TV Gerät, so muss man mit Adapter hantieren oder den digitalen Ausgang/Eingang benutzen. Wofür man auch wieder ein anderes Kabel braucht.
