They're uncomfortable but effective.
They're kind of uncomfortable but definitely better than just plain sunglasses while sunbathing in the South Florida sun which makes wearing sunglasses almost pointless. The cost of them makes a great value though & hair stays cooler along with rest of face due to lack of sunglasses sweat.

Eye protection for red-light therapy
It is difficult to find any other brand of tanning goggle. I actually used these for any LED or near infrared treatments. I learn the hard way that you have to protect your eyes when using the skin care treatments. Sunnies have been around for so long, of course you're going to get great quality. You're also going to get necessary eye protection.

I mean you can’t see through them well
So I don’t tan but I use a red light therapy mask that also has blue light, and although the mask I have has eye protection I was looking for a better solution. I wanted just my eye area to be protected while the under eye and crows feet areas were still able to get the red light, and for blue light I don’t like to have the mask touching my face because it can trigger melasma, so the eye protection on the mask doesn’t protect enough as it’s no longer touching me. I figured these goggles would be perfect and they basically would be if I could still watch tv through them, but the material of the eyepiece is way too crappy to be able to see clearly through. I can make out some shapes, but can’t read subtitles. I mean it is what it is but I could get the same protection for free by just… closing my eyes.

Super-Soft, Flexible, Quality Eye-Safety!
Perfect! I selected the "let us choose your color" option to save a buck and was lucky to receive a pink pair (purple would have been my first choice....but not worth paying an extra dollar or two to guarantee) that is a definite upgrade from your standard plastic googles. I used to go tanning on occasion and have spent as much as $5.00 for the cheapo, hard-plastic pairs and know that it really doesn't matter much as long as your actual eyeballs are protected. And I *personally* prefer a pair that I can squeeze/balance on my eyes rather than using the string because then they aren't as tight around your face, leaving lines and pressing on your eyeballs. The flexible, rubber of these makes that MUCH easier. They're soft and totally flexible and definitely good for those who like to "squeeze" them naturally rather than strap them on (though these come with a string, of course).I'm not using these for tanning because I'm 36 now and have learned my lesson about UV rays....but I'm using them for at-home Infrared Light Therapy that may/may not cause eye damage (so it's better to err on the side of caution and wear protective eyewear). These flexible goggles are great for Infrared or Red Light Therapy because part of the reason many people are using the therapy is to treat wrinkles and sagging (including around and above the eyes). So you don't want to cover or obscure the skin around your eyes more than necessary, unlike tanning/UV exposure where the idea is to protect your eyeballs AND delicate skin around the eye from rays. For others using these with the RubyLux Infrared (or other) Light treatments....these are both good for keeping that skin exposed (to firm and encourage collagen production) while also protecting the eyeball itself from *unknown/possible* damage to the eye from the lights. These are good quality, super-soft and flexible, and are versatile whether for tanning or for light-therapy treatment at home. And if you ARE still tanning, these are MUCH better than even what the best Salons are going to offer you unless you're going to use the stickers each time (hellooooo ruination of your eye make-up)!! All around....these are a great deal, great quality, and I highly recommend regardless of what you're using them for. And you won't get a nasty color, either!
