Who knew that one little action figure could bring back all the nostalgia of my childhood—and all the existential dread of adulthood? This G.I. Joe Duke action figure isn’t just a toy; it’s a reminder of simpler times, back when my biggest worry was getting the last slice of pizza, not the crushing weight of daily responsibilities. Duke comes with 10 accessories, which is great because I could use that many to deal with my own battles—like fending off deadlines, dodging bills, and navigating the minefield of adulting. The detail on this figure is top-notch, so much so that I almost feel bad for keeping him on my desk, where he’s forced to watch me struggle through my workday. But hey, misery loves company, right? The articulation is impressive too. Duke can strike all sorts of heroic poses, while I sit at my computer trying to remember what it was like to have dreams. He’s got all the gear he needs to save the world—meanwhile, I’m just trying to save enough energy to make it to the weekend. So if you’re looking for a little piece of your childhood to remind you that life used to be less complicated, Duke’s your man. He might not solve all your problems, but at least he’ll look cool while you try to.
