This is an excellent little chainsaw for those situations where branches are too big for loppers but also not enough to justify pulling out the full size chainsaw. It's super convenient that I can add it to my collection of other Dewalt tools for versatility. This unit is easy to assemble, well balanced with the battery attached, and has plenty of power to cut through pretty big branches. Having the manual knob to adjust the bar tension is great instead of having to hold the tension by hand. It's nice that it comes with two chains in the event you use it a lot and need to sharpen the other one. Overall a great deal and a handy tool!

Runs for a long time with my Dewalt batteries. It is very handy to use. Great for trimming branches from downed trees. I also use it to clear the pathways in my small woods. I have not had any problems with this saw. Still using the original chain, and I haven't had to sharpen it yet. I have cut up to 6" logs with it.Overall really happy with the size and ease of use.

This works great. Its pretty minimal design but cuts and prunes well. Its super light which a low as you to reach in the brush to loo off branches. The only feature missing is an auto oil solution. It does have a handy holder and trithfulky works a bit better in ensuring you have a good cove er age on the chain. Also the guard is minimal which does t trap cutrings and other mess that gets caught up in other makes.

This is the second of this same model that I’ve had. The first one works great. So great that I wanted a second one. The battery does not slide all of the way onto the most recent one that I bought so I am returning it. What a hassle. Buyer beware.

We wanted to try this chainsaw because it uses rechargeable DeWalt batteries which we already have and currently use for our leaf blower and several other power tools. Right away, I liked the portability. The chainsaw is lightweight and simple to operate. The largest limb I cut was about 2" in diameter, which it cut through easily. I included a photo of the pile of branches that I cut up. Once cut, that entire pile fit into a wheelbarrow. I got it all done in about 15 minutes. We have a lot of very large shrubs, and I can see using this quite a bit for pruning. Once I've tried this on branches larger than 2" in diameter, I'll try to add my results to this review.Like any chainsaw. if you don't position the tree limb correctly for cutting, you can get kick back. Make sure to follow accepted chainsaw safety guidelines, and wear the included safety goggles. I'm not sure why they included gloves. They are lightweight knit gloves with no safety application.Overall, I'm pleased with the mini chainsaw. It's portability and compatibility with DeWalt batteries are its biggest selling points.

We all know this was not designed for heavy duty work. But it does what it’s designed for with ease. The Dewalt battery fits it perfectly and it gets the job done.

I bought this chain saw for light pruning of ornamental bushes on my property. It is very well suited for this job. I have also used it for slightly larger tasks of cutting branches into smaller pieces for hauling for disposal. It does a good job on branches of up 2-3 in diameters. At the upper end it is straining and slow. I wouldn't recommend exceeding this size. For the jobs it does, it is very well suited. Extremely light, easy to use and with a fairly durable battery.I don't know how durable the chainsaw itself is, or how long the chain will last, or how easy it is to get a replacement chain. Moreover, I have some concern that it does not use chain oil as far as I can tell. That is very odd, and it may reduce the life of the chain.It comes with an assortment of stuff, that is not very useful. It has gloves, but they offer virtually no protection from the saw. I would recommend regular heavy duty leather gloves. It also has cheap eyewear. Again I would recommend better protecting eye glasses, but these are better than not wearing any at all.
