Similar to the peas I ate when I was younger
When I was growing up my mother used to serve peas as a side dish for dinner quite often. I remember they were quite delicious, but when I left home I rarely bought them at the store anymore. So it had been years since I had any, but after trying these peas from Del Monte, it brought back memories of my childhood. The flavor is similar to the ones I used to eat at home. I have been eating Del Monte green beans for years, so it's nice to try a new product from one of my favorite brands. These make a perfect side dish, and they are also very healthy.

Smaller can, smaller peas, pull tab opens with ease
Personally, I have always had good luck with Del Monte products.These peas do not appear to be an exception to that track record.You get a case of 12, 8.5 oz cans with pull top lids for easy access.The of young sweet peas are far more tender and petite, plus less fleshy in texture than their larger, more mature counterparts.Personally, I like theses on their own as a side, but know they are also a good thing to add into a casserole as well.I would definitely recommend these as a convenient way to stock up on a shelf stable veggie.

ALL the pictures show 15.25 ounce cans
I NEVER would have purchased these had I known they were 8.5 ounce cans. That's twice the price I can purchase them everywhere else! IGNORE the pictures!!!After being upset that the peas description did not match the pictures online, I finally decided to open a few cans and have them last night. To my surprise these peas are NOT what Del Monte claims them to be. They are supposed to be fresh young peas and as you can see, these peas are mostly big and old. They are also hard and not soft as you would expect. It looks like they are a mixture of young and old peas with most of them being the older ones. So, I leave it up to you to decide if you want to purchase them and risk getting something they are not being sold as. If I open 2 more cans and they are the same, they are all going into the trash can!

Easy to prepare
I used these peas when I did not have fresh ones from the garden. They taste great, and I'm going to keep buying them. My whole family loves these peas too! I have tried many brands, but nothing is as good as these peas. They are quick and easy to serve in at short time. This is great and time saving.
