Review: Excellent book. Felt that 'Eureka moment' as soon as i started to read it. - I've had my Nikon D7200 for about a year. It's a mid-range DSLR but i was a total novice. A year on despite having studied several books including David Busch's specific guide for D7200 i was still trying to figure out the correct exposure for each photograph and not feeling the fun and joy i thought photography would bring me. Although i was learning what all of the different functions can be used for, it was too overwhelming to think each time of all the different settings i must use. I even bought different lenses in the hope this would help with low light situations. I figured it was just going to take trial and error practice out and about with my camera to get it right. Then i came across this book. Because i had bought so many before i wouldn't have wasted money buying any more but the thing that stood out for me was the title. That really sold it to me. I had gleaned enough from all the other books and often what wasn't covered, to realise that something key was missing for me. What i hadn't realised was that any length of exposure over a second (bascially!!!) was 'long exposure' and most of the photographs i wanted to take involved long exposure and i wasn't going to get anywhere without learning about this and getting a tripod! As soon as i began reading this book some of the other information i had read made sense but it was missing from them. There are so many new useful tips that i had not read elsewhere. I felt inspired again and excited about making progress. I checked out the author's website and was blown away by the photographs, even areas of photography such as architecture which seemed boring before suddenly became appealing. I was delighted to find the author gives one-to-one tuition and immediately booked a session. I would recommend this book to everyone and if you can, book a session with the author, as i learned more in a few hours with him than from all the books and practice i've had. He is so enthusiastic about photography you just feel in the zone when you're out there and it doesn't feel like learning at all. He makes it seem so simple and logical and the difference in aperture and shutter speed and how they correlate just clicks with you. I'm really happy with my purchase and can't wait to get out with my camera. I actually feel confident in taking pictures now. Within seconds of turning it on i know exactly what settings i need to use. I thoroughly recommend this photographer. Review: This is the book to read if you want to take the guesswork out of long exposure photography. - This is the best photography book Iโve read. Not only does it cover the methodology behind long exposure techniques, it also clearly explains the technical aspects of a correct camera set up. When there are so many variables to consider in long exposure photography (shutter speed, aperture, ISO), I have found the information in this book to be invaluable. It has helped me to remove the guesswork out of my own photography - take a photo and cross my fingers - and given me a recipe for a more predictable result. Iโve been so impressed that Iโve even had private tuition with the author and found this to be incredibly helpful.

Stunning images explained clearly and simply
This book is a treasure trove of techniques explained in clear simple terms which is equally useful for the novice and more experienced photographer. Crammed full of beautiful images which in themselves make the book worthwhile, but coupled with peeling back the curtain to reveal the tips and secrets behind them, makes this a must have. My photography has come on leaps and bounds as a result.

I love this series of books. Iโm picking one up each time I order something and have about 5 now. I read them right the way through then look at a chapter for revision when I get round to trying one of the genres

The book is a must read and the author has an exceptional style in delivering the information in a very easy yet rich way. Structured in a very systematic way, each subject in the book is more interesting than the one before it. This is a book which has inspired me to learn about Long Exposure photography and it is full of ideas and tips to take your Long Exposure photography to the next level. I really enjoyed this book. I learned new ways to look at things and how to photograph them. It is not only a book about shooting in Long Exposure, it is also a great resource of how to compose for Long Exposure. I have read & re-read many of these chapters and think of it as more of a workbook than something you read and put on the shelf. This book really made me realize that there is a new way to look at the world around me and how to photograph it better- the Long Exposure way.
