ScoopFree Odor Control Crystal Cat Litter, Fresh Scent, 8 Lb Bag

We love this litter and have been on auto ship for quite some time now. It keeps the smell down and absorbs well. People don’t even know we have cats unless they see them. The downside is the fine powder that it emits into the air when cleaning/stirring the litter. It’s not enough that you see, but it can leave a powder residue on whatever it is neat. It is still better than having clay litter tracks on my floors. It is the best litter compared to many other crystal litter we have used.

Kristal cat litter is definitely the best in my opinion. It absorbs the urine and locks in the associated smells. It also tampons down on the smells from excrement, which is the only thing that needs to be cleaned out of it. I switch out the entire thing every two weeks and I’m able to keep the litter box behind the couch in the living room and nobody ever knows. The texture of this particular brand, absorbency, ease of cleaning, and the quantity that you are given is pretty exceptional.

What can you say about kitty litter? It does what it’s supposed to do lol! It is perfect for my pet safe litter box. And I’ll be honest, I’m terrible about changing it out each month. It definitely lasts a month and I’m sorry to say I often let it go longer, but it keeps the odors out. Even so, my cat continues to use it. So definitely five stars!

UPDATE: My search for a low dust litter was an expensive failure. I don’t believe there is any such thing. However! I found myself wistful for the odor control power of this litter, and decided to give the automatic machine it’s meant for a shot. It took my cats awhile to acclimate but I followed the recommended guidances, and now we’re fully switched over. I love this litter. It’s not no-maintenance, but man it’s a heck of a lot lower than others I’ve tried. The dust is generally lower now, which is great, and I only smell ammonia if it’s time to clean the whole thing out. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I bought this litter to use in a regular litter box, as I was looking for a low-dust litter. It is NOT low dust, holy moly. There’s a lot to like about this litter. The bathroom is the litter box is in is very noticeably less smelly. I never smell ammonia, ever. If it wasn’t so incredibly dusty, this would be the perfect litter. I left five stars, as I’m guessing the dust is less of an issue in automatic litter boxes. Cleaning this litter manually in a regular litter box however, is awful. Literal clouds of dust. I’ve been wearing a mask to attempt not to inhale too much of it. My two cats are diggers — they love to bury their leavings. Which means my cats walk around with light coats of dust on them. Trying to wipe them down before they hop on any furniture is not something I can continue doing. I can’t attest to how it performs in an automatic litter box. Perhaps in one of those, with cats who don’t do crazy digging, this could be a fantastic option. But do NOT buy it for a regular litter box. Onward in my search for the perfect litter.

works good, I have two kittens. they need the liter changed every two weeks in order to keep the odor at minimum. this liter does NOTHING for the poop smells but it does remove, almost entirely, the pee smells. so, pick your poison i guess haha

The Crystal Cat Litter is easily the BEST solution for the drum-type automatic litter box that we use. Only the solid waste is coated and removed when the litter box cycles, and the removed waste has enough crystal coating to eliminate the associated odors. The crystals also "roll" smoothly as the drum rotates, spreading out evenly instead of leaving hills and valleys, and there are no lumps sticking to the sides or bottom of the drum. However, the real magic occurs with urine control! The urine is simply absorbed by the litter and is not removed from the box - but the odor control is so effective that one 7-8# charge continues to be odor-free for more than 14 days with our two 16# cats and the box cycling only a couple of times/day. By then, the litter is just starting to turn yellow-greenish and we just empty the drum and replace the litter. There is less dust than we've found with other litters, and the larger crystals have less of a tendency to stick to paws and be tracked around the house. It's not the cheapest solution, but for the best odor-control and minimum effort in a small apartment, this can't be beat!

I have one cat and honestly, I need one bag about every 2 to 3 weeks for his litter box. We feel like it’s a really good value for the money and it doesn’t smell in a bad way at all.

This litter is alright. Having just recently tried a different brand crystal litter, one of those health monitoring kinds where the crystals react to the urine turning a different color to indicate early signs of things. That litter has much smaller crystal and I found the PetSafe ScoopFree Self-Cleaning Litter Box works much better with it then their own brand. Using the PetSafe litter was pushing a lot more of the crystals around as the machine cleans where I felt the need to have to adjust and move them back around to even the spread.

If you have a scoop free litter tray, this is pretty much the only litter that will work well in the unit. Good odour control. But typical of all litter products, they overestimate how long before you'll want to change the litter. You'll get around 60-70 uses from one 3.6 kg bag with a typical adult cat. Using half the bag each two weeks.

This is the cleanest manner of dealing with cat waste. Unfortunately it does not clump, so urine stays behind but all solid waste is disposed of with each use.

The size of this bag is really good, and I absolutely love using crystal litters in general. They work incredibly well, but this one still feels a bit overpriced for what it is. ​I'm taking one star off just because of the price point, but if you don't mind the spend, it's a great product that does exactly what it's supposed to do!
