Progrip 717BlackGray 717 Superbike Grips,Black/Gray

I installed these grips on my 2012 Ninja 650 and couldn't be happier. The red accents look fantastic and the grips as super comfortable and grippy at the same time. These grips are not too thin like some other aftermarket grips and the have good cushion while still feeling direct. Highly recommended.

My hands used to get fatigued on the 45-minute ride to/from work downtown, particularly my right, because I was constantly having to grip the throttle tightly to keep it from slipping and rotating back. Made it hard to maintain speed. Now, I can just lay my hands on both grips and they just STAY, and I can hold the throttle where I want with almost zero effort. They went on pretty easy. Just poured a lil' bit of rubbing alcohol down them before slipping them on, getting them lined up where I wanted, and VOILA! Done. (Of course, taking off the bar ends first was a thing of its own, as was removing the adhesive from the previous grips.) Only downside to these is that they do seem to transmit a bit more vibration than the previous grips somehow. Might be because the previous grips were so slippery that it allowed the grip to slide ever so slightly within my grasp and not transfer that vibration motion into my hands; these are so grippy, there is ZERO give, so whatever you feel in the bars you'll feel in your hands, too (for better or worse).

The Grips are SUPER nice.. They are some of the most comfortable grips I have ever felt. They make you want to ride bare handed.. but don't do that. They allow for that extra grip for and even "lighter" grip which leads to less hand fatigue. This is my 2nd set and they ALSO do NOT get gunky and grimy.. The color is good and vibrant, they combat bar vibration but still allow wonderful feel for the road. Installation was as simple and easy as any other grip. They are nice. The ONLY downside... they are not open ended. At least mine have not been. If you want to run bar ends you will need to cut them open. No biggy for some, while others probably wont like the idea of that so keep that in mind.

This is my third set of these grips. They work great, nice and soft with a lot of grip and they last a long time.

Excellent grip. I used several other brands, but have been using this type for several years. Works great for a variety of bikes. Easy to get on, just use compressed air or add some soap or window cleaner to help it slip on.

I’m on the fence with these grips. The comfort is great. The styling is nice and clean. However, they don’t hold up to daily use. I had them on my Ninja 1000 for about a year and had to replace them due to deterioration. If they were just a bit more durable, it’d be an easy 5 stars. At least they are inexpensive.

i’ve tried several different grips but keep coming back to the 717. i first got a set of these for my Ducati as recommended by the dealer, and have ended up using them on everything else i ride since — from sport to nakeds to a cruiser and now for a supermoto. i won’t bother trying anything else in the future. this is the best grip hands down.

Showed up super fast. Installed them on my Yamaha FZ8 7/8 bars. Super easy to install. Very grippy. Can't wait for winter to be over to try them out!
